We were there to celebrate my father's retirement as a family. We had a large party (16 people), so I expected our waitress to take more time. However, that much time was more than I expected. We had empty glasses on the tables, which is a feat as they serve their drinks in quart mason jars. We had a long... More

A couple of years ago a review warned visitors to "Don't get Stung at Skeeters." We ate at Skeeters Sunday night, October 5th mainly because a couple of the top trip-advisor places were closed on Sunday. Let's see: the hostess who took us to our table was excellent(meaning explaining Skeeters' offerings before our waiter arrived. The waiter: HE was absolutely... More

This place was a very pleasant surprise (off the interstate in the middle of Nebraska.) Food was good and so were the drinks. Had the prime rib. Yum.

Stopped in on a Saturday evening while traveling across Nebraska. We had a large party and they were able to accommodate us within 15 minutes. On Friday and Saturday nights the have smoked prime rib so several in iur group ordered it. The prime rib was good but didn't have much if a smoke flavor. The bacon wrapped shrimp was... More

This was my first time eating here and I was not disappointed. I ordered the BBQ Brisket. It came with warm bread and two side items. The side items are all you can eat which is rare in today's market. The brisket was very flavorful and tender. The portion size is larger than Famous Dave's with a lower price. I... More

We couldn't stop raving about the food here. When we arrived at our hotel we asked for suggestions. The desk attendant mentioned several. We pursued Skeeter Barnes. Their response was "depends on what you order". We must have ordered everything right. We had three different types of steaks and each was delicious. The sides were very good also (plus you... More

Had some good ribs at Skeeters, along with average brisket, pulled pork, and smoked sausage. The medium hot sauce is tasty and goes a long way to make things tasty. But the sides have a ways to go--the cole slaw with peanuts tastes salty and we just didn't get it. The BBQ beans tasted slightly better than out of the... More
