Just so-so

There were three of us for dinner on a Monday night. Ed's was not at all busy so we were seated promptly. They have a very expansive menu...maybe spreading themselves a little thin trying to do too much. We had come for a local steak, but upon seeing that they charge nearly $40 for a steak we had... read more

Weary after a day of herding a 40-foot combo along I-80, we crossed street from the B/W to Ed's. Seated promptly, pleasant wait-staff, great food. Couldn't ask for more.

Saturday evening all restaurants full around Grand Island, but Uncle Ed's had almost all tables available . Had not been back since 2012, We did wonder why it was empty. Had 4 children and 5 adults with us. A variety of food was ordered from our table, (most of us from the Omaha area and all of us very well... More

We went out to celebrate the birthday of a friend, the four of us had not been here for a long time (although my wife got their food at the State Fair this summer and said it was the best thing she'd eaten there). We had good food (and drinks - beer, wine and gin and tonics), but it took... More

We spent one night in Grand Island while travelling and found Uncle Ed's near our hotel. We were there on a week night so it wasn't too busy. Our server was great and offered good suggestions based on what we liked and wanted to spend - she offered suggestions from mid-range to high end. We went for high end steaks... More

Uncle ed's has ruined all other steak for me! Best steaks around. Aged nicely and always cooked to perfection.

We stopped on our way out west. This was across the street from our hotel and other visitors recommended it. Our meals were very good - known for their chicken fried steak which was tasty as was the pork shank. The service was friendly and accommodating. It was perfect after a long driving day and much preferred to any chain... More

Took forever to get our food. The waitress was great. The food was ok nothing special for the price. We did not order steaks because they were $30-40.

We enjoy trying locally owned places as we travel. We found this place online as we were passing through Nebraska. Food was good, but nothing spectacular. The 24oz porterhouse was cooked unevenly and pecan pie was almost too sweet to eat. Our waitress was awesome!
