Cannot say enough about our dinner at this restaurant. The atmosphere is very Montana, beautiful, woodsy, laid back and friendly. But the food and service is anything but laid back and run of the mill. We had the Chef's special with wine pairing. 7 courses each paired with a wine by our sommelier/waiter Scotty. My taste buds were exploding from... More

Outstanding variety of fare, prepared to perfection! Sommelier well versed, and the huckleberry martinis are outstanding!

Chef Andy prepares inventive and novel dishes at this mountaintop restaurant on Whitefish, Montana's ski resort. All sorts of game abounds on the menu- inventively sauced and prepared, including elk carpaccio, halibut 'lox', bison and locally sourced yak! steaks. If particular additi

This was our third visit to Cafe Kandahar and we still feel this is our favourite restaurant (for special occasions only as it is pricey)! Chef Andy and his staff are amazing! We will continue to patronize this gem of a restaurant on future visits to Whitefish summer or winter.

A large group of friends and I recently dined at Cafe Kandahar for a Bachelor Party weekend and I am happy to report that it exceeded our expectations and absolutely everyone (out of 14 people) left satisfied with a great meal to talk about. We found out during our meal that they basically opened up the restaurant a week early... More

The meal was overpriced and all main dishes were a slab of meat or fish with sauce. 6 people had dinner and not one person was satisfied with their meal. I sent my beef dish back as it tasted spoiled. The huckleberry Martina's were delicious.

The Snug Bar is a great place for a beverage and to order from a scaled down menu from Cafe Kandahar. The warm spinach salad and Elk burger are excellent. There is always some interesting to talk to in the very small but comfortable confines of the Snug Bar.

My husband and I ate there twice on our trip and loved it both times. We had elk, bison, and several other dishes. They used combinations of ingredients we had never seen before (and we eat out a lot), and every bite was just delicious. Just be aware that it is pricey; the two of us spent $150 on one... More

Amazing food and amazing service! My husband and I just enjoyed the Kandahar special/tasting with the wine pairing and it was phenomenal. The service was wonderful and we knew what we were having with each course as well as what and where out wine was from. The buffalo tenderloin and the cream brûlée were out of this world! We are... For years we have held our company holiday dinner at Cafe Kandahar - and for good reason. Chef Andy and his team always go the extra mile to ensure that your meal with them is one that stands out from the traditional dining experience. Between all of us in our party, we tried a number of the items on the... More
