We had a lovely evening here right until we got to dessert, at which point the kitchen seems to have “hit the wall”. The menu features interesting and local foods and several of our dishes were really outstanding. Some of our party did the wine pairing and those were well-chosen. Unfortunately,we then waited nearly thirty minutes for the dessert order... More

Don' even bother. Homely dining room, ordinary food, overpriced as well. Staff was pleasant but the chef didn't deliver - my salad was overdressed and my prime rib greasy, no interesting vege. This is a lovely area and the dining environment was a disappointment.,

Staff went out of their way to make the food and experience perfect. Staff was able to make substitutions to menu, made recommendations with wine. Options for tasting menu or al a cart. Large wine list.

I was not expecting to find such a restaurant at a empty-feeling ski resort in the middle of summer. The wine list was very well put together -- a lot of small producer wines that I happen to know and love, plus some new surprises. The somm was very helpful and friendly. The food was also very well-executed. I had... More

Fresh food, reasonably priced and great service staff. The food was served hot and promptly. We had a group of 9 and no problems anywhere. Staff shared cool stuff to do in the area and discount possibilities

Food was excellent but our dining experience did not measure up to their rave reviews. When making reservation for our party of six, the owner required a credit card number to hold the reservation, with a $25 per person surcharge if we cancelled within 24 hours. We arrived 10 minutes early as a courtesy but staff said he needed to... More

My husband and I went down to Whitefish the other week and we were looking for a place that didn't serve pub food. We found them in the hotel directory binder in our hotel and they were only a couple buildings over. We didn't have reservations so we waiting at the bar until they had a spot available. We ordered... More

Excellent experience! I thought the second course was my favorite, until the third course came out. Then that was my favorite until the fourth, and so on and so on! Absolutely unique combinations! Order the tasting menu and surrender yourself to Chef Andy! You won't be disappointed! And don't forget to go with the wine pairings! cafe Kandahar is definitely... More

One of the best restaurants I've ever had. I can't find a flaw. The food was brilliant, deliciously brilliant. I didn't know that was possible but after that meal I learned that it is. It is a MUST GO. Especially if you like mouth- watering crembrulé.

Cannot say enough about our dinner at this restaurant. The atmosphere is very Montana, beautiful, woodsy, laid back and friendly. But the food and service is anything but laid back and run of the mill. We had the Chef's special with wine pairing. 7 courses each paired with a wine by our sommelier/waiter Scotty. My taste buds were exploding from... More
