Interesting restaurant. They have 12 tables plus a chef's tasting table in the back. It appears they stage reservations for 1 table every half hour so the restaurant is never more than 20% full which gives it an odd feeling. Probably because of this, the service is impeccable, but a little pretentious. Food was very good but not extraordinary.

We visited here with another couple and their kids (7 and 9). The atmosphere is cozy and a little rustic... not what you expect with the food they put out from the kitchen. We opted for the Build-Your-Own multi-course meal, although they also had a 7 and 11 course tasting menu. The food came out fairly timely (considering what was... More

This is one of the most amazing restaurants we have enjoyed on this trip. The food was absolutely amazing, along with the staff and their help with the menu. What choices and the wine list was superb. Hidden secret. Mind of out of the way but worth the drive if you are staying in Whitefish, MT. $$$$

We did not expect to find such a great meal in the rustic ski lodge, but there it was - a seven course gourmet meal with wine pairings that was as good as those in Napa Valley or San Francisco. Expect to spend a little time lingering with your food and enjoy! The chef uses the best of local and... More

First class restaurant. Chef Andy Blanton turns out eclectic and tasty dishes. Service is outstanding, only professionally trained staff. A must for a unique dining experience. Chef's tasting menu and regular menus attached.

Cafe Kandahar truly stands out in the Flathead Valley, it is the sort of restaurant that provides an overall experience rather than just a memorable meal. The dining room is intimate and classy with an air of coziness that I associate with mountain town lodges. The servers made us feel like we were the only people dining, even though most... More

My husband and I visited while staying on Big Mountain last week. Great flavors. Loved the sablefish and Creme Brule for dessert. Servers were great. It is not a place to rush in and out. Plan on staying a while and enjoying the atmosphere. Food was not what we normally order but was fun to try new dishes.
