We've eaten here twice, and loved the food, the facility (real mountain log building, big comfy western chairs to sit in, beautiful mountain flourishes throughout the restaurant, super view outside and big windows to see thru). The food was great. Loved the filet mignon, and the antelope appetizers were superb too. Great draft beer choices (Montana brews). Service was outstanding... More

What a neat place. Glad I found it. Go there its worth it!! The restaurant is on Hwy 20, about six miles West of West Yellowstone. Turn into the ranch and go about two miles on a gravel road. The Bar N Ranch is the oldest dude ranch in Montana. Lots of history. Had Dinner of Yellowfin Tuna Salad, Rocky... More

This is why you go to the mountains, for fine dining in an atmosphere that fits the scenario. We arrived late and were happily greeted by the manager on duty. She quickly found us a table for two beneath the mountainous infrastructure in the center of the room.(refer to photo) we were greeted with drink menus by our server and... More

We wanted to go to a nice western style restaurant to celebrate and it was well worth the scenic drive out of West Yellowstone. We ate at the end of the season so it was pretty empty but the service and food was still great. The restaurant itself is worth visiting just for the views (200 acre ranch with mountain... More

The Bar N, located just 5 miles west of West Yellowstone is a real treat. Very interesting and wild west menu, from Bison, Elk and Halibut to a very delicious Hanger steak. Large portions, excellent salads and an extensive wine list. There are a couple of bonuses. 1) the number of wild animals (taxidermy) that offer the tourist an up... More

This restaurant is a little out of the way but worth the drive from West Yellowstone. This is a beautiful, rustic restaurant with a large dinning room and a great view of the area all around. This sets on a 200 acre ranch which appears to be a working ranch. The food was excellent and the service matched.

Service and food was great - steaks and vegies were spot on! Desert definitely. Atmosphere was great - large & roomy, great décor. It is about 10 minutes outside of town (6 miles) - easily worth the drive especially to avoid lines for mediocre restaurants in town. It is off the main road on a dirt road via ranch gate... More

We were "steered" (tongue in cheek) by our motel manager to this restaurant that you have to keep the faith when you're taking a long drive into the field where it's located. We were unbelievably surprised by the creative menu and the perfect execution of our meals. My husband had the flat iron steak and deemed one of the best... More
