Nice restaurant with helpful staff. We enjoyed our food. They have a limited menu but everything we tried was good. French onion soup was delicious and the veal was very good. We would go back if we were in the area.

The Old Piney Dell is a lovely restaurant with a view of Rock Creek tumbling by the dining room. The many windows overlooking the creek make for an extraordinary dining experience. The food was delicious, well prepared and presented. They have an extensive wine list and the service is exemplary. We prefer to dine at Old Piney Dell at sunset... More

A (reserved) creek-side table couldn't make up for a so-so meal and so-so service. Our party of three ordered broiled walleye, baked potato and vegetable medley. The walleye was cooked just right, but lacked flavor and baked potato and vegetable medley were unremarkable. I realize this restaurant is in a building with an interesting history, but the interior looks like... More

Food was good, not a lot of menu choices and a bit pricey, but they have you when you eat on property. The staff was all very friendly and accommodating.

Sorry service from Loral (?) the food quality was fair at best but the service was so bad. They wouldn't take the food back to be re-done and she wouldn't listen to us about it or the fact that we needed more coffee . Not a good experience

We were staying at Rock Creek Lodge and after a day of travel and hiking wanted ease in dining location. Lady at the front desk told us this is "where the locals go for a good meal". When we entered the woman at the bar was a bit snippy to us but we were seated by a more accommodating person... More

We have been going back to the Old Piney Dell since 1989 and still love to come here. We were in town on a Friday evening and I was dismayed by the low numbers in attendance for dinner. They have always had excellent food and this time was great too. I hope that they continue to stick around!

Three of us went to the Old Piney Dell because our hotel suggested it. What a quaint surprise! Just outside of Red Lodge on the Beartooth Highway - a little place in the Rock Creek Resort. The hostess was reluctant to seat us because they had 2 large groups. But, she did with a request that we be patient. After... More

We had a flat tire on the way to dinner but made it on time for our reservations! While ordering drinks from our waitress, Laurel, we mentioned our tire woes. Laurel went out of her way to try to find help for us before we were to leave town the next day. Our food was fabulous too! I had prime... More
