Off the beaten trail is a good way to describe Northern Lights - but the food was really good.

This may be tainted by our exhaustion. But we hit this cafe at the wrong time! We had to wait close to 45 minutes for our pizzas. But when they came, the pizzas were tasty! It was definitely a local hang out but if you arrive too late, or if there's a lot of people around, expect to wait.

Hit the saloon and get a pizza pie. This will complete your Polebridge experience! Food is very good considering that Polebridge is in the middle of nowhere. Enjoy!

We ended up in Polebridge after seeing a poster in Whitefish for a band that was playing there. What a pleasant surprise when we finally reached the end of the dirt road. Norther Lights Saloon is just lovely. It has a warm family feel. It's small inside w/ plenty of outdoor seating where you can enjoy the beautiful weather &... More

This was recommended to me by some people at Belton Chalet. When I got there the staff was kind of rude. I went ahead and ordered. It took a long time to get my food. The food was not as hot as it should have been, and not very good. To top it off, there was a dead mouse floating... More

Well, not literally, but Northern Lights is a small, rustic, local atmosphere bar with a nice dining selection of steaks, chicken, burgers, etc. From the moment you walk in, you are absorbed into a familial atmosphere where everyone is part of the conversation - owners, regulars, frequent visitors, and first-timers alike. The National Historic Register building was designated as representative... More

Coming out of the back country this restaurant hit the spot. My friends and I were looking for a hearty meal and the Northern Lights Saloon was excellent! Despite the slow service, which we didn't mind lingering in their open sitting, friendly dog atmosphere, the restaurant had friendly staff and delicious food. The general store next door offered fresh-baked homemade... More

This place was recommended by the people we stayed with. It is small (4-5 tables plus 6 bars tools) and very informal. But it has all of the a rural frontier down-home charm that one expects in Polebridge, MT.

During our week at Glacier we found ourselves with a day without an activity. In our group we have my husband and myself along with out two boys (8 & 10), also my mother and father in law. Staying in West Glacier we figured we'd mosey on up to the Lake McDonald Lodge and then had some huckleberry ice cream... More

The Northern Lights Saloon is back, not only do they have their liquor license but the food is GREAT. Prime Rib on Saturday nights was excellent. The new owners (actually two of the owners opened the restaurant part of the saloon in 1977 and have returned!) have done some well needed improvements and the scenery is the most beautiful in...
