Chef-owned and operated, Pearl Cafe is an aptly named jewel of a restaurant serving regional cuisine with a country French accent. The massive beams and peach toned bricks of the historic warehouse provide a warm and inviting atmosphere. Specialties include bison with huckleberry-zinfandel sauce, duckling with dried cherries and pomegranate sauce and beef tenderloin with port and Roquefort. Fresh fish dishes change daily and local products are used whenever possible. The menu is rounded out with a variety of appetizers, soups and salads, house made bread and a list of sinfully delicious desserts. The restaurant serves wine and beer, with a list of 15 wines by the glass, local draft beer, a broad selection of half bottles and over 100 full bottles.

On a special occasion, I surprised my wife and took her to the Pearl. It is a long drive from our home, and I did not tell her where we were going. Having never been to the Pearl, I was a little bit concerned it would not be as good as I had been told. It was better. The service... read more

this is considered the best restaurant in town! It is THE place for a celebration! Most interestingly they don't try to gouge one on the price of wine

The atmosphere is so romantic. Our waitress was able to describe the wines to a tee for us. We had the chicken liver pate as an appetizer which was so creamy and smooth which complemented the crisp apples it was served with. I had the grilled seafood medley and since I do not eat potatoes they gave me extra vegetables.... More

Finally tried The Pearl after many years. The atmosphere was lovely, the wait staff friendly, and the salmon was so fresh, I swear it was swimming just before it was prepared. (As fresh as you can get in MT!) My husband is more of a meat and potatoes guy, so this was not his favorite place. I would go back... More

I admit I'm partial to restaurants with table cloths and cloth napkins. Besides this, though the food at The Pearl is good--and consistently so. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the wait staff excellent

We were on a road trip and dined at several places never before tried, and used trip advisor to attempt to find good choices, but this was the only really good one we found. The young staff is intelligent, helpful and efficient. Every dish was delicious and the wine was also excellent. Recommendations were actually useful, steering us away from... More

Let's put it in simple words...this restaurant may be the top in Missoula, but if compared with actual standard of excellence it becomes just an ok-average place. Food is well prepared but interpreted in a way that in my opinion does not give justice to the potential of the ingredients. The service is fine. The patrons were a bit too... More

This was probably the best meal we have eaten outside of Europe since we moved to North America 14 years ago and it is the first time I have awarded a restaurant anywhere an "excellent" rating. The menu is outstanding and the wine list extensive, while the décor and ambiance is so relaxing and classy. Our waiter, Riley, knew every... More

Lovely little spot in downtown Missoula. My wife and I had dinner there on a Wednesday night, and it was quiet. I can see where the restaurant could get noisy on a busy night or weekend, but for us it was fantastic. I like old buildings, and this one was a fantastic spot for restaurant. Service was okay, the food... More

If you want excellent cuisine presented well, you should consider the Pearl. Situated in an historic building, you will find an innovative menu that often offers bison and other less common meats, always tastefully prepared. Service is very good to excellent. Pricing is consistent with the quality.
