Overall, a good place to stop in for delicious cheese burger or hot plate of dinner. Perhaps to warm up and fill my tummy with the Oxford's fresh cooked food; straight off the grill! This is beautiful Missoula, Montana at the great Oxford Saloon and Cafe'. Yours Truely, RoseAnn, yeah RoseAnn (giggle)

Those who rate The Ox less than five stars just do not understand what this place is all about. Went there recently, first time in 50 years and it had not changed much. Yes, the food is not gourmet, the service may be spotty, and there may be characters you might want to avoid. Do not ask for a wine... More

You want breakfast? This is the place & my son says the burgers are good too. French toast, garbage omelette, chicken fried steak & even 2 eggs with meat & toast are our favorites. Love the older guys on morning shift & service is pretty good since there is only 1 server & 1 cook working. Coffee cup is always... More

We have stopped here several times over the years for burger fixes. It is not the greatest food, but it is perfectly decent and consistent. We have found the staff/cooks always friendly and accommodating. As one of the other reviewers said, the Ox is a Missoula icon (and dive bar and diner) where one should stop to check out. We... I used to love the Oxfords brains and eggs, but they took it off the menu several years ago......They said they ran out of brains.....also their hash browns and gravy isn't as good as it used to be. The Ox is a great place to people watch. The transients can be a drag though. But that's true over much of... More

don't expect super good service or friendly staff. This is an old Missoula icon that everyone in town should go to once (most likely 2am)

I don't know if this place is normally so bad, because the crowd seemed as friendly as they come in Missoula, but the waitress was rude , would not make eye contact and there was a questionable character hanging out outside. Won't be back, unless someone tells me this is not the normal way of this place.

Don't miss the Oxford, a true Missoula landmark. When I was an undergraduate at the University of Montana in the late '60s, we would go to the Ox for breakfast after the bars closed. Back in the day, when someone ordered Brains and Eggs, the specialty of the house, the wait-person would call out, "He wants 'em!" Alas, Brains and... More

If you want to see drunks and more drunks this is the place. Most customers are missing some teeth and haven't seen a bath tub for some time. On the other hand everybody has to be some place.

This place is on sort of a hipster main drag in Missoula and from the outside it might look like it fits in. It doesn't. I doubt this place has a Thursday night $1 PBR special but it does have a kick butt jukebox with Zepplin, Pearl Jam, Joe Walsh, Stones etc., $5 1/2 lb. burgers cooked to perfection, cheap... More
