A Night to Splurge

We went to have a special dinner and live in the area. Bar area was very busy so we ate in dining room. Always very good service. Place was not real busy. Food was very good and we enjoyed the evening. Don't go if you are going to worry about the cost. Just enjoy..

Went here for my anniversary it was absolutely delightful. Make sure to make a reservation it can get crowed unexpectedly. They have fine French cuisine. You can sit and talk for a while and taste the fairs. They have a restaurant in the back for a longer sit down and a more casual dinning experience in the front. They have... More

I've only eaten breakfast here, but it is great. I love the banana french toast. Service is good. Nice atmosphere.

I hadn't been to the Red Bird since my son graduated from college 7 years ago and I was pleasantly surprised how delicious the meal was. There were three of us and we shared salads, shrimp cakes another main course and a desert. Everything was wonderful, especially the shrimp cakes! I would highly recommend this as a special night out... More

My meal here was fantastic. People who order pasta, salad, or something of the ilk. I get it -- you are at a fancy restaurant everything should be good. But please remember you are in Montana. Order a cut of meat and it will be amazing. Would I go to seafood restaurant in Baltimore and order pork chops? No. You... More

The food is extremely well played. The fondue is somewhat grainy and sour but the accompanying elements of bread, meat and pairs were outstanding. The meat and cheese appetizer is very nice. The wine selection was outstanding with generous pours. The music is not too loud and the atmosphere is cozy and sophisticated.

Lovely, warm atmosphere, tons of personality in the physical surroundings, gracious hostess and waitstaff, a creative menu and unusual wine list. So why no rave reviews? The salads were interesting (if just a touch under-seasoned), but our entrees were just "meh". I ordered the rabbit pasta dish and received a HUGE bowl of house-made pasta dressed with the mildest rabbit... More

Red Bird has been said to be the nicest restaurant in Missoula and is located on the first floor of a boutique hotel. The night we were there, a group was learning the tango in the lobby and it gave a pre-dinner drink a little more flare. I thought the décor was a little campy, but dinner was very nice.... More

Found this off yelp. Inside an old hotel building. Nice wine bar area. Seemed very popular. Dinner area was very different. Decor appeared as if an old Chinese restaurant. I ordered the duck. It was great. My husband ordered the shrimp cakes. He liked my duck better. So did I. Service was good except my duck came out warm at... More

Fantastic meal with generous portions. The wine list by the glass and by the bottle is excellent. The wait staff was helpful and attentive.
