I enjoyed a $3 raspberry pale ale that I had never heard of that is at least as good as the Lindeman's raspberry lambec that costs 3 times that much. My husband enjoyed his wine as well; they have a fabulous wine list. The charcuterie and cheese plate appetizer was very tasty, especially the duck-pear pate. The seared scallops were... More

We had an excellent meal here and a wonderful dining experience. Our waiter Chris was fantastic and really made this a very memorable meal. We asked him for several recommendations (food and wine), and they all were spot on. Fantastic food and the exceptional service we received made this an exceptional night out.

While camping near Missoula, we went to the Red Bird for my birthday dinner. I had seared scallops with thyme gnocchi. It was really delicious. The wine of the day was a perfect match for the meal. Our waiter at first seemed very stiff, but after initiating a conversation with him, he became friendlier. He was always efficient and gracious,... More

Our last night in Missoula , we chose the Red Bird after walking into the marvelous hotel to check out the restaurant in the afternoon. We made reservations and learned when walking in that the bar menu is not served in the "formal" restaurant.....and the restaurant doesn't serve the bar menu. Since my hudband/driver got his choice this dinner we... More

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner. Was well worth the 2 1/2 hour drive! The service was wonderful, the seafood sausage - very unique and delicious. Enjoyed the beet salad - it was so pretty - the lamb and scallops were so wonderfully prepared. We enjoyed the presentation of all the dishes and their wine menu was good.... More

Favorite spendy restaurant in Missoula - very unique and romantic atmosphere - but be prepared to spend some money! Decent amount of food though even considering the cost... its worth it for the atmosphere!

Our food was very good- had the lamb, the duck, the scallops and the Indian veggie dish. The beet salad was amazing and innovative. The wine selection was impressive. Our waitress, Leah, was on top of her game. Then we had dessert. Universally disappointed. The creme brûlée was tiny, pathetically inadequate. The hot chocolate lava cake was tasty but tepid.... When you check in to the Red Bird in the Florence Building, you step back in time. The 1930s/40s opulence abounds here. You are taken back behind the curtain to a hidden dining room that is very small and intimate. There is gold and blue wallpaper and a large retro chandellier in the center of the room. Every table or... More
