Breakfast time

This old diner was a fun place and the food was very good and the prices were just about all you could ask for. Portions were large so you better have an appetite. Lots of old antiques around the eating area with a soda fountain on one side. Kid friendly and fun.

For food, it was fine for greasy spoon place/food. They were out of four items to our count and people were having to find second and third menu choices. Coffee was bitter, but not from being strong, just bad coffee. Don't go for old-diner nostalgia. This place was done in the 1980's or 90's made to look 50's. I personally... More

This is a straight up 50s diner that appears to have been this way since the 1950s. Do not let the age or kitsch of this place deter you. This is my family’s favorite place for breakfast in town. (That also might be because here we will let the kids have milkshakes with breakfast). The portions are large and the... More

We had family visiting from Michigan, and absolutely loved our experience at the Uptown Diner. Service was so great- our server went WAY above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Food was amazing! We ordered everything from the chicken salad croissant to the tuna melt and all of the entrees were delicious with huge portions. Milkshakes are... More

The milkshakes here were delicious, but the rest of the food we ordered was just "meh" (chili, hamburger, fries, tater tots, mashed potatoes, gravy & turkey). We would go back just for the ambience and to stick with the breakfast menu, which is what everyone seems to rave about. Service was friendly and efficient.

The Uptown is a fun diner where you can get a great milk shake at the fountain, fresh soup, salad and sandwiches and delicious breakfasts everyday while you hum and sing along with the 50's great rock 'n roll artists. Ask for Alex, A happening spot!

Average hamburger and fries, not bad. Service was slow really slow. Fun, nostalgic atmosphere. All-in-all, okay.

Pancakes in most restaurants are tough (from overheating the batter) or fried (from cooking them in too much oil) or both. Not at the "Uptown Diner"! The very best I have ever eaten outside of my home. They were almost an inch high, fluffy and tender. The Uptown fried potatoes were like supper thick potato chips and excellent. My egg... More

The food was really quite OK, but good grief SOMEBODY needs to wipe off the menus from time to time. No kidding...there were parts of the menu that couldn't be read because of the dried on food stuck to the menu. Kind of takes one's appetite away. Our server was VERY friendly and eager to please, but we won't be... More

Diner atmosphere is nice although a bit worn around the edges. Excellent location in central Missoula. Stick with breakfast dishes served all day. Burgers and meat cooked to the extreme, nearly inedible. Service is friendly but be prepared for 15-20 minute wait. Again, go for old time atmosphere and breakfast menu.
