We have been going to Stockman Bar since we moved to Montana 17 years ago. The wait staff are friendly, and call us by name. We used to be able to just walk in, but if you want to go on a Friday or Saturday night, reservations are recommended. The food is just good old-fashioned fare, and tastes like you... More

I took my wife to the Stockman Bar and Grill for her 50th birthday present. We drove over 100 miles to Livingston, stayed overnight at the Murray Hotel (highly recommended) and we went down to the Murray Bar (highly suggested to avoid) for an adult beverage and food. When Mike (bartender at Murray Bar) never even spoke to us at... More

Best blue cheese salad dressing ever. Fab. French dip sandwich. Great steak & shrimp combo. Frys are home made and great for gravy dipping.

A classic Montana small town cowboy cafe. Good food, good prices and good service in a 1960's style. A piece of history

The Stockman has been a main stay in the Livingston community for years. Still has the best prime rib in town.

Stockmans food is awesome, old school stuff. Awesome steaks, prime rib served in a crusty old Montana bar. BUT, as a burger junkie, this joint tops every other I have had. Only complaints are the savage drinkers clinging to slot machines, and the lack of humane alcohol. We usually catch a buzz at home and drink water with our otherwise... More

We were looking for great steaks and got nothing special. Standard pre made iceberg lettuce salad and well cooked but seasoned steaks. The staff was friendly and there was nothing terrible, but nothing remarkable either.

We found this restaurant surprising good and a good value. We both had steak and thought the price of the food and drinks were very reasonable. Don't be put off by entering through the bar, the restaurant is small but very homey. Service the best! Very western and great for us easterners to enjoy!

We were driving through town on our way to Billings. The place is certainly something you'd consider "down home". The bathrooms are really small but the bar is roomy. Burgers, as previously reviewed, are big and the fries were liberally served. I probably preferred the taste of my fries over the burger frankly. It was fine, just not real flavorful.... More

All so delicious -- go in through the dark bar/casino at the front to reach the small cafe area. Everything is fresh, handmade and delicious. The owners/waitstaff couldn't be nicer.
