Yep, you heard me right staggering ox now has the best cheeseburger in town. It's called the All-American and it is incredible. It is a bacon cheeseburger with all the fixings, in the clubfoot bun. Totally fantastic can't wait to have another one.

The sandwiches are fantastic, yes, but the french onion soup is incredible. Thick crust of cheese on top, large chunks of onion and hearty broth all served up steaming hot!

In the heart of Helena Montana is the Staggering Ox, a funky sandwich joint that has been recognized by Food Network and Maxim magazine. They are famous for the clubfoot sandwich. Homemade bread baked in a can, hollowed out and packed with a variety of delicious fillings and sauces. We enjoyed the "Nuke" with asiago bread and chipotle ranch sauce.... More

I had the veggie sandwich on Italian bread with a side of ranch and loved it! My kids loved the sticky fingers with pb & j. The atmosphere was great and all the art and unique items gave my kids and I topics to discuss which helped in making the wait for food seem short!

First off.....This place is the talk of the town....and the folks at home talk of it too! I was excited to try is out!where did they get that picture? Mine sandwich was flat and nearly empty. When I asked about it, I was told that is the sandwich and I really would enjoy it. I didn't. Secondly, I am glad... More

We stopped in Helena on route between Yellowztone and Glacier. The hotel where we were staying recommended the Staggering Ox for lunch. The sandwich variety was enormous. The sandwiches were huge, flavorful and very filling. In particular the "heartbreaker" was terrific

When I asked if anything had MSG, the man at the counter said, "well doesn't everything? Isn't' it sort of like salt?" I should have walked out then but decided I wanted to try it. The result was a migraine headache. The taste of the food was average and other servers were friendly but not worth the headache.

I stopped by the Staggering Ox on my trip through Helena. I tried the Three Mile Island, which by name, suggests that it may be hot/spicy. It's anything but hot. However, it was very tasty and I would recommend it to anyone. The athmosphere is a bit different. The layout is a bit different, as the restaurant seems to be... More

I love the ham and cheese or ham/turkey/cheese, It's simple yet the way it's put together in the barrel bread makes eating a sandwich fun. I will admit it can be a bit messy, and sometimes I have to use a fork and scoop out part of the sandwich and eat it like a salad until it gets down slightly... More
