A family owned restaurant across from the movie theater on Main Street. A little tough to spot. Unfortunately they don't have a liquor permit. A cold beer would have been great after a long drive. The chili relleno/burrito combination was very tasty. My wife had the fajitas. It was massive. Seems to be popular with the local residents. A worthwhile... More

I ordered chili rellenos, a favorite of mine. Backing up, I am a local resident, 77 yrs old. To continue my tale there were no chilis but a one inch strip. I asked the server for an explanation and was told GET OUT NOW, which I promptly did. Too bad it used to be a fairly good place but $13.95... More

Stopped in Hardin after a long day of driving, and the hotel clerk suggested La Chalupa. Service was great and the food was authentic, tasty, and not greasy. Really enjoyed it and the price was right.

Service was OK. Food needed some more flavor. Pretty bland. I had the taco salad which was very bland. With more cheese and flavorings it had potential. Hubby had another dish that needed some spicing up for flavor. We went there once on the recommendation of the campground but won't return.

Decent, family-run Mexican food in Hardin. Good salsa. Very busy on a weeknight - so don't expect to eat and run.

Service is terrible!!!! This is a small family run restaurant and the girls (waitresses) need to be provided some guidance on what to do. It was like the staff was wandering around in their own little world with no regard for what was going on around them or what they were supposed to be doing. The food did arrive quickly... More

Being strangers to Hardin we asked the desk clerk of our hotel (Lariat Motel) and he directed us to La Chalupa. It was just what we wanted - prompt service, nice chips and salsa, plenty of good food. No beer or wine. If you are hungry in Hardin, this is the place to go. It's on the main street across... More

The last reviewer, who wandered for 45 minutes looking for the place, made me smile. Hardin is not big enough to wander for 45 minutes. The location, however, is not the one listed here. It is in the 200 block of Center Avenue, across from the movie theater on the town's main street. The food was authentic and good, but... More

We had a hankering for good Mexican food...First off, they are not at their advertised address. After wandering for 45 minutes we found it a mile away from where it is advertised. After letting the disinterested waitress know they need to update their info, we tried to order a beer off the menu. Oh yeah, they haven't changed their menu...no... More
