Food is a little hit or miss and usually fairly expensive. But if the cooks are on their 'A' game, the food is great.

I am very overdue for this review, but I love everything about this restaurant. From the historical ambiance (oldest functioning hotel in Montana, along with first 3-story building in Montana), to the impeccable food, there isn't much I can say bad about the place. Our first visit was a special dinner after driving up from Billings to stay on property... More

O.k., so I try to be a vegan. And I was tempted, but aI tried the sauce, it was amaze! The chef insisted, even though they were in the middle of a big party, to prepare a vegan dish for me. The Bethel Heights Pinot Noir from Oregon, was outstanding! The dining room servers were sweet and accommodating. Always a... More

We were a little disappointed in the food based on the reviews. Upon arriving in town we had driven around town prospecting for a dinner location.....this is it! With this historic little town in the heart of farming country I expected more local, home grown produce and meat. None of the menu items are bragged as being local grown -... More

As guests of the Union Hotel we of course tried the restaurant which was highly recommended. Appetizer was fantastic as well as the Halibut feature that both my husband and I had. Servers were efficient and friendly and we appreciated the recommendation of wine!

Handsomely restored hotel from 1880s on the placid river in early evening sun make for a romantic and nostalgic setting. But a top chef created a very modern menu distinguished by local specialties. Prairie flatbread with apples and chevre was good starter. Wait staff eager and accommodating. A very special treat.

Food a bit expensive, but quite fancy and tasty. Chef like kale a little too much for my taste. But he makes up for it whenever he uses huckleberries!

Had a wonderful experience in this beautifully reconditioned 1880's grand hotel. I ate in the bar (with the same menu available as the dining room) as I was dressed pretty shabbily. I was treated so well by the staff and served a fabulous pasta dish of pappardelle and spicy clam sauce. The clams were in the shell and perfectly prepared... More

Great dinner and nice atmosphere. Service is a little slow but why be in a hurry at such a nice place.

This is a high end place -- with a named chef and many fancy ingredients listed on the menu. We ate on the patio with a fabulous view of the river. This was the best part of the dinner. The food was good but somewhat ordinary -- didn't seem to justify the high price tag.
