After flying into Billings and driving the Beartooth Highway, we spent the night in Cooke City and had dinner here. The food was terrible and terribly overpriced. The vegetables were from the freezer aisle. No attempt to serve fresh vegetables and the mashed potatoes tasted like they were from a box. The sautéed chicken was not bad but my husband's... More

All sandwiches come with fries, but they're greasy and the turkey sandwiches we ordered were very ordinary. Servings are small and atmosphere is lacking.

There wasn't much else to choose from in this town, so we just stopped because we were wanting breakfast and coffee. Just general breakfast foods that you can cook at home. Nothing special. There was only one waitress for the whole restaurant so we got kinda crappy service, had to ask for coffee refills as she was walking away from... More

Good things - friendly waitress - chocolate desert was nice Less Good things - no ventilation inside (no open windows., it was cold outside with mosquitoes. Inside was too hot - maybe heat from kitchen). no a/c and no ventilation - inside looked dusty , window sills dirty - I killed 8 flies with my napkin on the window at... More

Our dinner for four with one beer cost $114. The ribeye steak was thin and tough. They did not have enough mashed potatoes for our orders so only one person got what they ordered potato-wise. The beer I ordered was also not available, so I had to pick an alternative. I did not find the cuisine quality nearly up to... More

First of all, there is absolutely NO reason to stop in Cooke City unless your gas gauge is on "E" or you need a paramedic. But, we were ignorant. Arriving at 11, we were a bit surprised to see that many of the restaurants were not open for lunch until 11:30 or noon. But, The Bistro was! Once inside, we... More

After leaving Red Lodge and traveling east towards Yellowstone Park we had to travel the Beartooth Highway topping out at 10,947 feet before dropping down to the entrance to the park and Cooke City, MT. We wandered up and down the highway (really the only street in town) and found this log building with a sign saying, "THE BISTRO". Who... More

Very simple menu (mainly burgers and hot sandwiches) but everything was great. Very fast service and friendly staff.

We ate here for breakfast Thursday June 18th. The service was great, food was good. I wish we ate there this morning as well. Could be a bit more cozy.

We stopped here on our way into Yellowstone NP after driving through four different seasons on the Beartooth Hwy. Those who have made that drive will get what I meant. We had various soups, and sandwiches, and burgers. Everything was hot, fresh, and tasty. Service was friendly, even though they seemed a little understaffed, but hey, if you're in this... More
