Not a New Jersey Italian restaurant

Both realtives and the owners of the B&B we were staying at, highly recommended Lydias. It has a nice atmosphere, good for couple as well as bigger groups. Staff was very prompt and efficient. You receive lots of food starting with a salad and separate small dishes of beets, scallions, peppers... read more

Have been here on several occasions and have always had excellent service and superb food. Entree selections of steak and scallops couldn't have been any better. Love the atmosphere - expecting Lawrence Welk to appear out of an orchestra pit. Friends are flying in next week and will return with them. Reservations are recommended so your table will be set... When we arrived the table was set with a wilted iceburg lettuce salad that was obviously from a bag, 1 piece of salami and 1/2 piece of packaged hamburger sliced cheese, with the corners suspiciously cut off - leading me to believe it was dried and salvaged/re served. Totally unappetizing. The menus were dirty, and the joke was printed that... More

I miss this type of dining experience. I like condiment caddies and an assortment of old world snacks waiting for you on the table. Local Butte friends took me here for dinner and it felt like a treat, a real local experience. The steak was superb and the white spaghetti is a must!

Decor: Think Goodfellas bar where Henry told Tommy he was "funny"..Throwback type decor to times when going out to dinner was an event rather than a normal thing. Food: Amazing....They do it "Meaderville Style". Meaderville was a town that was swallowed up on the hill where the Berkley Pit is located and used to house the finest restaurants in Butte... More

Dining at Lydia's is a step back in time. The decor, the menu harbors back several decades when the dining experience focused on the hearty consumption of flavorful dishes. When one first arrives at Lydia's, the table has already been laid out with several choices - salad, beets, and bread. Entrees focus on a Montana staple - beef - in... More

I have lived in Southern California for almost fifty years, and each and every time I go to visit Butte, LYDIA'S is the #1 place to have a fine meal. Having grown up in the Butte/Anaconda area of Montana, LYDIA'S was always THE place my parents would take us for a special dinner. My parents were friends with the original... More

When I moved back to Butte, I couldn't wait to go to dinner at Lydias. I remembered it as being great place, when I went there with my parents and on special occassions. It was not at all like it used to be.The food was over priced and tasteless. It was so dark, that I could hardly see what I... More

Throwback to the 1950s and 1960s where the dinner comes with appetizers, salad, two or three sides, entree and dessert [best Spumoni I have had in years]. Food is bland but plentiful and its an interesting cultural experience.

Located on the edge of Butte, we expected a more modern facility. Parking was convenient, but we found the interior dark and possibly moldy. Maybe that's what Lydia was going for, but we found it less than inviting. The appetizers and salads and sides are standard, so it is waiting for you when you are seated. A novel process, but...
