Love the cozy atmosphere

This is a small restaurant inside the Emerson Cultural Center. Good idea to have reservations. We walked in early in the evening and were lucky to get a table. I had the Carbonara with Fettuccine. Somehow when you pay top dollar for a "dining experience" you expect top service. The waitstaff was surprisingly less attentive than they should have been at 6:00 p.m. Only three tables were occupied and the waitstaff tended to hang out closer to the bar and the door. We had two salads - the one with the goat cheese bruschetta and... More

I try to leave NorCal food expectations at home, but readers should know I travel with high hopes for a good meal. Emerson's menu offers nicely varied options leaning towards Northern Italian focus, often using local organic produce & meats. Surprisingly good wine selection, impeccable service in a warm pleasant setting. Food was a bit generic - one could find... More

Service and food are great. Nice cozy winter place for dinner. The only distractor is the menu need to be changed. It has been the same since I can remember, many years. I have had about ever thing on it, so please have about a major change or addition.

We had a salad special with turnip, arugula, beet, and medallions of fried goat cheese with a citrus fennel viniagrette that was excellent. I greatly enjoyed the scallop appetizer but the calamari appetizer was too oily (it was cooked but not fried or breaded). Good service and a good wine list.

We lucked into a last-minute reservation here on a busy night. Our server was excellent, very friendly in spite of the hectic atmosphere. Highly recommend the pizzas - they are large enough to share between 2-4 people! We also found a good wine to enjoy (no liquor, just beer/wine). This restaurant is in a neat old building with an art... More

well cooked meat, interesting salads and appetizers, fresh food, great flavors, and a very good offering of wine. The outdoor seating is charming and the service was excellent, the prices were high but they were on par with the quality of the restaurant.

Kind of hard to find and in a venue that can have lots of other people attending movies and talks. Food is always very good, the service help is great. The kitchen is open and the chefs are open to any type discussion you would like. Good wine list. Out side seating need to be up-graded next spring. The outdoor... More

We had tickets to the Opera in Emerson Theater and managed to get reservations for after the performance. The arugula and beet salad was a bit too heavy on the greens. The pastas were perfect. The room was beautiful. Enjoyed the evening and will return.

The food was delicious, as was the wine. The service was impeccable, and the whole experience would have been delightful, except that they rushed us out when we weren't ready.
