Old Montana at its best, straight out of the 1950's, local hang out, and the fresh pies come out at 3pm. Don't miss this for breakfast or lunch

The title sums it up. Great food. Great staff. Great atmosphere. We snuck in just as they were shutting down for the afternoon and everyone seemed more than happy to stick around. Mouth-watering special written on the chalkboard made our decision difficult. I went with the diner standard, Hot Beef Sandwich, it came with a salad and dessert. The blue... More

The Western reminds me of a little cafe in my hometown that my Grandma used to take me to when I was younger. It would be surprising to walk in and not see a local having a cup (or pot) of coffee. I have never been disappointed here, and I always take visitors here for breakfast! Laid back, no fuss... More

The Western has been in Bozeman for a long long time and has gone from being a great diner back when to falling off it's game for a while and finally under the current new management it has regained and surpassed it's former glory!! My favorite breakfast is a heart stopping plate of biscuits and gravy with two scrambled eggs... More

At first look this (nearly historic) cafe looks super small and your not sure what it is. The old fashioned 7Up sign on the marquee tells you right away that it is old school. Inside the round stationary cafe stools show off the bar type counter. Then you see many Montana brands up on the wall telling you that this... More

On a stroll along Main Street, I was first attracted by the nondescript appearance of this cafe that looks like an ordinary uninviting "hole-in-the-wall" place to eat. The Rueben priced at $7.25 was especially appealing, but our local family member encouraged us to consider other places before choosing this cafe. He said it was often crowded, as indeed it was... Stopped in an was definitely impressed by the food, service and décor, very cute! Been in a few times since the first time we went in and have not had a bad meal in anyway. The hours in my opinion seem limited for such a great place, but otherwise I would say they are great!

Very small but nice cafe. You know it's good because the locals eat here. Soups and lunches are awesome, get there early for the special.

Look for the awning and the waiting line in the street. This gem is hidden behind a non-discript single door entry. This was my best food discovery in Bozeman. Obviously a favorite of locals. I liked it so much I had to go back and try it again later in my stay. Don't forget about the specials on the chalkboard.... More
