Bozeman has earned a reputation as a great place to live and therefore is being gentrified. It is hard to find something that represents the "old" city, but the Western Cafe does just that. From its retro neon Cafe sign to its awnings it shouts authentic and it delivers. First you have to climb 3 steep steps to enter, then... More

This little cafe located in Downtown is a classic in decor, but not in food. Since I grew up in the West, I could not resist trying the "best chicken fried steak " listed on the menu. I had it as a lunch with real mashed potatoes (just add you own butter) a light as a feather house made Biscuit,.... More

Bring a big appetite for this delightful old-timey cafe. We have eaten here twice and with relatives visiting decided to have breakfast on Labor Day. The place was packed with patrons but the service was fast and friendly and the food was delicious.

We arrived at Bozeman's airport and asked the woman at the car rental counter where we should go for lunch. She recommended Western Cafe and we're so glad we went. We ate a delicious meal outside on a beautiful afternoon. The service was great, not just from our waitress, but we could tell that the other staff were great as... More

We often eat at the Western Cafe for breakfast. We've always been satisfied with good basic fare at a reasonable price and good service. Yesterday a friend suggested lunch there as they had just fixed up a cute little outdoor space next to the building with a white fence and hanging baskets. When we asked to sit in the off... More

Great breakfast or lunch. Friendly staff, outside seating is wonderful in summer. Bobcat Special is delicious - cinnamon roll French toast! They even have cheater specs available when you pay so you can read the bill!

We stayed in Bozeman on our way to Seattle and needed breakfast and just happened upon this little diner. A few days later heading back this way towards Yellowstone we stopped once again for breakfast and were once again pleased with the entire experience. When traveling finding a great breakfast is one of our priorities and this was a very... More

We had breakfast and we will be going back. The menu had nice options, the food was good. The portions were nice and the prices were fair. The restaurant was full and it is larger than it looks from the outside. Still it is a cozy, locals kind of atmosphere.

Party of three; 9am breakfast time; sat outdoors. Great, attentive service. We had pancakes (get the sort stack - 2; 3 stack too much unless you are Haystacks Calhoun) with sausage on side, bacon and eggs with hash browns. Best restaurant breakfast meal in a decade. Highly recommended.
