Good service, good food, nice atmosphere. Nothing about the experience was outstanding but I have no complaints, either.
At one time, the Rex was the place to go in Billings Montana for a romantic evening with a spouse. However, the last three or four years, each time we have received a gift certificate for the Rex, we were terribly disappointed with the food quality and the price. One time, I received a bond or rule with green mildew... More
Had dinner last Saturday nite. Our bill was over 70 dollars...not bad but not cheap....service was mediocre....not too upset about that....but when the bus boy boxed our meal he threw away our fries...really? why? Didn't notice until we got home, otherwise I would have said something. We were very disappointed.
Based on other reviews, I was expecting a "wow" experience at Rex's, but this just wasn't the case. Our visit started out disappointing, as they were out of the Buffalo Rib Eye, which was the reason we chose Rex's. The food was nothing special, and pricey. Our waitress was ok, but she only did what she had to do. Overall,... More
I love the lighting in the place - lots and lots of windows. I hate dark bars. This is located in the heart of the historic district and reeks of atmosphere. I have yet to have a bad meal here and this is usually the place I take out of town visitors. Perfect for enjoying the company of friends. The... More
Expected a lot of fried food and not much else but was pleasantly surprised by some of the offered entrees. Prices were a bit higher than I would have liked. Great beer selection!
We stopped here for the smoked meat we heard about on the Food Network and were not disappointed. I had the Smoked Brisket Sandwich and my husband had the smoked Brisket meal. There was so much meat that I could not eat my bun - I focused on the brisket. It was absolutely delicious on its own and with the... More
We were staying overnight in Bilings and this restaurant was recomended. The service was excellent and the food was very good. We were only having something light to eat, but having seen the steaks being served up we were sorry that we could not come back the following evening to try them! The staff were friendly and attentive and the... More
We ate on Rex's patio. It was charming. The food was fine, not the greatest that I have ever had, but it was quite adequate and the overall experience was quite wonderful. I would eat here again. We walked down from our hotel. It was a pleasant walk. On our return Billings was having its first Friday art night so... More
As we flew to Billings the woman sitting next to me recommended the Rex for dinner. GREAT steaks and the waitstaff was great. We sat on the patio. The rail yard across the street added to the charm of the place. Highly recommend it!
