Chef Nick Steen presented the Hops and Hogs Dinner. The menu was totally unexpected (I actually didn’t know what to expect in Montana) and very memorable. Course 1 was Pork Belly bathing in parsnip apple bisque and dotted with black beans. It was paired with LMR Summer Shandy. The pork belly was cooked to tender, melt-in-your mouth perfection. The parsnip... More

The restaurant was truly my favorite food on our trip. The dinner in particular were great - they included everything from classic meat and potatoes to reinterpreted classics.

We enjoyed eating here repeatedly during our stay at LMR. One comment: this is high-end food, so occasionally it would have been nice to eat in a less elaborate manner. Still, this is a friendly place to have a high class meal.

After a day of cross country skiing at Lone Mountain, our group of three had lunch at the dining room in the resort. Great space, terrific service and the food was just fabulous! We had the chef come over and share the recipes, it was that good. When the bill came, we were expecting this to be a pretty expensive... More

We have stayed at the ranch for 12 winter seasons, but this year the increase in price and decrease in quality that we experienced last year put us off and we stayed elsewhere. However, we still skied the trails (excellent) and met friends in the dining room for lunch and on consecutive evenings for dinner. The lunch buffet is average... More

Thank you for sharing your experience. I am personally disappointed the service was so poor and as you described it was way below our standard. I look forward to your next visit and on that occasion I am confident you will experience at or above the level you've become accustomed. My sincere apologies, More

The dining room at Lone Mountain Ranch is what you picture for the quintessential upscale guest ranch. Soaring beamed ceilings, yet warm. Servers in ranch attire. Very good food. For this area, a don't miss.

Despite the fact that we were not staying at Lone Mountain Ranch (LMR), we visited two days in a row to enjoy cross country skiing and snow shoeing. Our instructor encouraged us to enjoy the lunch buffet after our lesson, enticing us with the promise of all we could eat for $13 a person. We bit, and we are glad... More

What a beautiful spot that is worth seeking out. Lone Mountain Ranch, is a cross country ski mecca and resort with cabins and a gorgeous log cabin style dining room. We had great service here, and my husband's meal was very good. Mine was fairly bland and tasteless but we will be back to see if they've improved later this... More
