A superb restaurant in a great location

We've eaten at the Pheasant many times and it never fails to please. The location is excellent as it's perched high overlooking the Peckforton Hills and the food is always perfection. Lovely staff make it a really special place to be and it's a very popular place.

A late lunch I admit. Friendly welcome, busy buzz. Good choice of nosh. But portions a bit small for the price. One dish served with an 'alternative' item without me being asked if that was acceptable. (I would have chosen something else had I known). Service tailed off- little things- no pudding forks, no sugar offered for coffee. Fire alarm... More

A short detour from our walk along part of the Cheshire Sandstone Trail for a welcome stop at this comfortable, friendly and obviously very popular pub. The meals that others were tucking into looked delicious and our soup was excellent. The coffee was very good too.

We have visited the Pheasant Inn a few times with family. Even when we have visited without booking the staff have always managed to find a table for us. The atmosphere is excellent, makes you want to return again and again, the same for the food and service. Highly recommended. Fantastic setting, you can take your dog in with you... More

8 adults, 2 dogs and a toddler mean you need to book, but you will not be disappointed. The location, service and choice of drinks were excellent. Well worth ordering some nibbles while you have a drink - excellent whitebait, little sausages and pork crackling. Mains generally good, but the more complex the dish the better - kitchen management. All... More

We went on a Friday night for a meal for my girlfriends birthday and took the dog with us so she was not on her own. Before we went we booked table 8 which is next to the open fire. When we arrived we were shown to our table and asked if we required a drink and the dog was... More

We recently had the pleasure of staying overnight with our 2 pups. The staff could not have made us feel more welcome. The room was most impressive, the staff were an absolute pleasure from start to finish (especially Robbie) and the food was fantastic.

We had eaten at The Pheasant Inn twice before and were impressed; this time we were staying two nights in order to walk the local hills and eat in the restaurant again. The food was wonderful, and the staff were attentive and helpful. On the first night we were joined by friends and had a long table in the window... More

It's probably easy to find in daylight, but on a dark winter evening we struggled.Imagine then, our delight, when we saw the welcoming lights of this excellent inn. Inside we were warmly greeted, along with our labrador Noah, and shown to our very comfortable room ,really nice bathroom, tea and cookies, big bed. Back in the bar/restaurant we were given a choice of tables, all set out in... More
