Look no further. This is the best Italian restaurant in St Louis. Both outstanding service and outstanding food. Order the pasta for an appetizer for a real treat. The beef and fish specials are always excellent.

Family was in from out of town and they were interested in going to one of St. Louis' Italian restaurants. We naturally first thought of The Hill but then remembered John Mineo's. We've been to JM a number of times, but often forget about it in a situation like this. We had made reservations and were seated at a corner... More

Our family of five went there on a Friday night w/reservations. We were seated promptly. Ordered from the menu, the food was ok, but not over the top as you would expect from their of style of waiters in black coats, served via heating tables at your table. One order of fish w/risotto lacked much risotto - all broth, didn't... More

Another restaurant we haven't visited in many years. We returned with friends who go there often. The atmosphere is as pleasant as it was years ago and the food very good. Two of us(my wife and I) had the grouper special. The other two meals were supposed to both be veal but the one order got mixed up and came... More

Old school vibe. Very good chicken parmesan (huge serving), caesar salad, house salad and delicious tiramisu. Amazing spinach served in marinara sauce. Terrible bread, which matches the terrible bread we had throughout our trip in Northern Italy, so we can't fault Mineo's for it's authentically bad Italian bread. Definitely on the pricey side, but quality food for the price. Service... More

What a wonderful place to enjoy a night out. Love the atmosphere, decor and friendly service. I had the chicken parmigiana (it was huge and sauce was amazing) and wife had salmon with risotto. Both were fantastic. Would have given 5 stars but Cesar salad was very average. Will try house next time.

Tucked in the corner of a tiny shopping center, Mineo's is top notch old fashioned luxury dining. Waiters in ties and sometimes coats, salads tossed tableside, and warming carts deliver food for final preparation. And the food--magnifique. Among the best sea bass around. Veal several ways. And one of the few places with calves' liver on the menu. Not cheap... More

Very disappointing ! When I asked to see the wine list, the owner asked if he could recommend something. I said sure; then he asked me if I was looking for something in the $60 price range (in front of my guest!) and when I said something more like $40, he brought out a bottle of 14 Hands Merlot. It... While this isn't my normal go-to kind of a place, it's kinda' fun to step back in time and imagine what is would have been like for my parents when they were younger and stepped out on the town. Cliché? A little bit, but white linen service in a dimmed dining room with all the specialty Italian delicacies you'd expect,... More
