After ordering drinks and some oysters, we received the drinks then were informed that they were out of oysters. OK, that happens, so how about some calamari instead? Sounds good. 10 minutes late, oops, sorry, we don't have any calamari, either. OK, so we'll try some bruschetta and fried spinach, which were very tasty. Then, someone shows up with calamari,... Our hosts raved about this place. Meh. The menu was a little weird, with some strange combinations of foods/flavors. They are trying to much to be "fancy" I think. I think the food COULD be good if they weren't trying so hard and went back to some basics. It was well prepared, but, I just didn't care for the menu... More

The prices are a bit high, but the service and food are great. Did dinner on a weekday and had a great experience. Will definitely try it again.

My friends took me here to celebrate my birthday. It's a very trendy/upscale venue where people come to be seen. The after-work drinking crowd is really hopping here. Our waiter was very friendly and put a lot of effort into serving us, however he quickly became distracted when a 6-person group was seated near us, and started focusing on what... More

We were there for dinner on a Tuesday evening. The restaurant looks to be a local favorite for drinks after work for the locals. The bread with the sun dried tomato bread dip was wonderful and hard to stop eating. Before our entrees, we started with the green salad with tomato and artichoke hearts...it was a little lacking in flavor.... More

Had dinner in the front room, where the noise of the bar as buffered by closed doors. Wine selection was impressive and complimented the chicken-asparagus meal nicely. Fried spinach appetizer was a first for me, but it did not appeal to me.

Overall, the food was a little above average, but there were definitely some brights spots. This was the first time I’ve had flash fried spinach! Our host ordered it and I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was really good. Great flavor. Sorta melts in your mouth. One of their specialties. The place was busy on a Friday night—very... More

Great menu. Not your average causal restaurant fare (e.g., Applebee's.) Chef inspired dishes that are delicious. Metropolitan Grill is great for business lunch or special occasion dinner - and it won't cost you an arm and a leg. This is my favorite place to dine in Springfield!

Another great find thanks to Trip Advisor. The menu has choices for all. Prices are above average but the food is well worth it. Try the Jena salad. It is really different. Our server recommended some great choices. A very pleasant dinning experience.

The menu is creative and the food was very good. The plates of food are attractively arranged and taste great. The place will do gluten-friendly meals on request. Service varied a bit for us. The owner comes out to check often and the owner took excellent care of us. The bar and drinks are an important part of this place.... More
