Casper's is known for its chili, but I make better chili myself. If you're in Springfield, you must go this unique "restaurant." It's a local favorite. And an unparalleled experience. In the past, I didn't go there much, because I'm not wild for their chili. But under the new owners, the menu is a bit more varied. Mind you, this... More

If you're lucky you might even catch an insult while dining. It's just a part of the experience here. I was told by a local that their Chile was the best in town. Well it ain't bad and neither are their burgers. The Frito-Pie looked pretty good as well. This is a tiny orange Quonset-Hut building, you might have to... More

if you're the type who wants to avoid the national chains and experience truly local flavors when you travel, then Casper's is a must when you visit Springfield. This place is in a Quonset hut. It's old and rusty. There's limited seating. Calling the decor 'dated' is wildly understating things. But that's the beauty of it (if that doesn't sound... More

If you've never been to Casper's..go!! I've been going there most of my life. More often when I lived close by..I live in Canada now and make sure that when I visit Springfield, Missouri each year, that I visit Casper's and usually take someone that has never eaten there before. Casper's has new owners, but the food is the same.... More

Casper's chili is phenomenal. I hate seeing the restaurant close each year and wait for them to return in the fall. Get your chili on with tons of options and toppings, but please save room for the chocolate cake!

Casper's is a Springfield chili institution. I remember eating as a child at Casper's at a previous location. It's in a quonset hut in the downtown area and you'll see the cars parked long before you see the otherwise non-descript building. It just depends when you hit the joint - slightly before lunchtime or after is best - because the... More

Amazing place with reasonable prices. Eat their chili and you will have zero regrets. Call ahead or check their hours because sometimes they're closed early (and I believe they close in the winter). Everyone was very friendly and we had our food within minutes. I've also had their tasty burgers.

This chili place is so quaint and cool. The staff is so persinable and friendly. The atmosphere could keep me busy for hours multiple visits. I love it. If you don't like styff on the wall, or staff with a pulse, then go hang out at a boring restaurant with no character.

This Eclecticly decorated American cafe keeps your eyes entertained for the duration of your meal. Furthermore, they serve the best chili and cheeseburger...hands down. Messy and delicious! Don't wear white!!!

I thought the place was creepy and dirty I got a bit sick just trying stuff. I don't like dirty taxidermy around where my food is made. The food was greasy and nasty.
