Good tex-mex style mexican food

First of all: You must like American style tex-mex Mexican food in order to love this place. If ground beef and cheese in a tortilla is not your thing, go elsewhere. This is not even remotely authentic Mexican food. That said, I love this place. Its a springfield institution. The burrito and Sancho... read more

We have ate here several time and have found it to be very good. The food is good and made quickly. The staff always makes sure you are happy with their service and food. The prices are reasonable and the place is clean.

Filthy floor with lots of crumbled chips, wet table, ceiling leaking onto table, chicken nachos dry and flavorless, beef tacos nasty and no choice was given of soft or hard, queso dip gritty. The only semi-decent thing was the waitress. Unprofessional but adequate. A dreadful end to our vacation. Never again!

The three things I liked were the following: the wattess; the rootbeer and the decor. The waitress was great. I was surprised that they served root beer, as many places in Virginia don't. The decor was as a quaint cafe. The food was not as i like, and tasted like canned Mecican. Sorry to rate it so poorly.

The place is small and old.. The enchiladas were great... The tacos were below average... The seats in the booths are broken down.. Seems like a place that caters to locals that already know what's good before the sit down... The salsa is very, very hot... Service was good.. Parking is also good...

Sure, it's not really "Mexican" food, or even strictly Tex-Mex. But this Springfield landmark restaurant serves its own blend of great, consistent Mexican food. Even better, you can purchase their own grated cheese and sauces to make your own queso dip at home.

We have been eating at the original Mexican Villa for years, most of the time we are pleased, today was terrible! My food came out cold and a bug ( I think it was a cockroach) crawled out from the woodwork by the booth we were seated in and onto our table. We reported this to the waiter, he simply... More

There are two types of people in Springfield - those who love Mexican Villa, and those who hate it. I'm the latter. The service when I've gone has always been horrible. I get better service at Taco Bell by MSU after a late Saturday night... and that's saying something, because they usually have to have cops in there. And the... More

This has been a favorite of mine for over 30 yrs. The Burrito Enchilada style is my choice. The cheese sauce is good stuff. The hot sauce is very good, also.

First time I was back in 30 years and the food was as great as I remembered. The portions are huge as anelderly couple I took split a plate and could not finish it. The service is as great as the food. I think this location has the better food over the other locations.
