This is not just a regular Mexican Restaurant, this is gourmet and authentic Mexican. The atmosphere is good, darker than a typical Mexican. And the food is better than at most Mexican restaurants around.

This was the worst eating experience I have ever had...I have ate there two times prior and the food was good, but for some reason today May 21st 2014 at around 3:00 pm my opinion changed...sat down no problems, went to order and they wanted us to spend 2.00 to split our meal with our 18 month old...I told our... I went to City Mexican today for the first time. I was joined by two coworkers over the lunch hour. I have to admit, when we first showed up, we were a bit hesitant to go inside. If you look at the view from the west side, the restaurant almost looks as if it is shut down. However, you are... More

My grandparents, sister, and I visited this restaurant in Springfield today for lunch and I must admit, I will probably not be back. I've been to many Mexican restaurants in Springfield and other cities in MO and the Mexican food here isn't bad but just too expensive for what you get. Their lunch menu only has about 6-8 items so... More

Great $5 margaritas. The ququest app was plenty for all four of us. It complimented the complementary chips and Pico. I enjoyed the Could and the wife took... More

City Mexican Cuisine offers a great selection of Mexican selections form the various regions of the country. The Merida (tamales) were outstanding, and Ixtapas (fajita beef soft tacos) were tasty, with good portion size. We were delighted by the pineapple guacamole, and the pablano mix, We also highly recommend the chocolate tres leches torte - the perfect finish to a... More

Great food. May be my new fav Mexican restaurant If you are a Mexican villa/Taco Bell person. This place isn't for you. The menu is more upscale and fresh. Those who didn't like eating here go back to what you know. The rest if us will enjoy better tasting dishes.

Food: authentic. Portions: appropriate. Service: black attire, attentive, professional. Ambiance: totally unexpected and avante garde. Price: pricey, but worth it. Menu: not sure I'm all for the names of the dishes, but okay. Descriptions helped. Owners: attentive, interested in the diners' experiences. Location: VERY difficult to find. Signage is not easily seen from the major road. Luckily it's in a... More
