Trifecta

Having eaten at our local (100 miles away) Lamberts and the one in Foley, Al., I achieved my lifelong goal of making it to all three. And I must say that this location is the very best. I like the rolls in the other locations , but these were excellent. I was there in a group and it was fun... read more

The only negative I know of with Lambert's can be the wait and the crowds. We picked a perfect day and time so we walked right in and had good food and good service. Lambert's is unique so it is a destination location with good food.

Lambert's is an experience and a destination even more than a meal. Sure the food is great, but I'll get to that in a minute. What I enjoyed most was talking to people outside who were waiting for the restaurant to open, the many tour buses packed with wide-eyed travelers, the young man with the strong arm and his "throwed"... We were driving through so we had to stop! The only bad thing was that the ATM was out of order. We went next door to the place with the fried pies and came back a few minutes later and all was well. We got seated and were immediately given some fried okra. They were super-hot and crunchy. We ordered... More

We arrived and were seated immediately and before we were even sitting, a fellow was ready to throw us rolls which we caught and put on a paper towel on our table. Then the apple butter and sougham arrived. Then fried okra arrived. We put the okra on the paper towel too. We ordered fried chicken and our sides. The... More

Quaint midwest ethnic place crowded with souvenirs and old machines like washers, wringers and gas pumps. Packed with overweight diners. There is take out. The rolls were expertly thrown but quite ordinary and supersized. Interstign as an experience but would not eat there again.

Wow what a wond wonderful place to stop and eat at. First, you better be really hungry because not only are the portions huge, but they are constantly throwing you rolls...Yes, they are famous for their "Throwed Rolls" as it says it on their sign. Just butter them up and enjoy. All you can eat. They also have servers offering... More

Every dish I tried was good, and the pass arounds are all good. The most difficult decision is which entree to get. The philosophy at Lamberts is in the same vein as my mother in law's advice: "Eat up, you don't know when you'll eat again",

Lambert's is called "Home of the thrown Rolls" & that's exactly what it is! The guys are constantly coming out with a cart of fresh hot rolls...when you want one, you stand up & say HERE! Be ready because they throw it across the room & you catch it! The servers walk along the room carrying pots of macaroni with... More

We stop at Lamberts whenever we are traveling in the area. We first went because of the famous "throwed rolls" but we go back repeatedly for the old-fashioned southern meals and the sides that are dished out. The quantity of food is amazing, so I suggest not eating at all the day you go. The service can be iffy and... More
