Cool!

With temps in the 90's, it only seemed natural to try Sara's Ice Cream. What a cute little place! It has a few tables and chairs inside as well as a few stools at the counter. I would imagine the stools would really have appeal to little ones. The day we were there, my husband and I had... read more

We were in the area today and was craving ice cream. I googled Ste. Gen and found this cute little shop. The ice cream cones we had were good, but they had a very small selection of flavors. It was ok. We love ice cream, so it did hit the spot.

We arrived shortly after the shop opened for the day. Not long after getting there another couple came in. Shortly after that a few more people came in and then two more. Within a short period of time there were 8 of us in this itty bitty shop. The teenage boy working behind the counter was nice and the milkshake... More

We stopped in here because it said antiques/ice cream shop and there aren't that many shops to stop in at. We thought they'd have antiques for sale, not just look at all these old antiques we have. It had a little soda fountain inside and since we walked in I got a chocolate malt. It was served in a styrofoam... More

Stopped for dessert after dinner. Great atmosphere. Baby cokes were cool! Reminded me if an old fashioned ice cream parlor.

It's ice cream. How can you screw up ice cream? As good as most and a nice place to grab a cone. We are lucky to have it in Ste. Gen. Mostly school kids for help and nothing wrong with that.

Worth stopping by. Great flavors and toppings, especially the hot fudge. Opened until 10 pm on Friday and air conditioned.

I can't say the ice cream's taste was special but the shop is cute, friendly and had other specialties. If you are walking around and want something cool this is the shop to visit.

Stopped here after riding from St. Louis in 40 deg heat. After checking out the tourist office around the corner came here to cool down. I didn't think places like this existed any more. It was like a scene from a 50s' movie. Really friendly young girl served us and we had ice-cream like I have never before tasted. This... More
