Whenever we travel through Missouri we make a point of stopping here at Sweetwater. Found it by accident several years ago and have visited 3 times. Hope to so again soon.

This place can be aggravating. One time I go and it's delicious, the next time I go it's terrible. No consistency at all. When it's good it is worth the visit but there is no predicting from visit to visit what you are going to get. Since there are better, much more consistent BBQ places in the area I just... More

I love it when you pull off the highway for some lunch and you find a place like this. The pulled pork sandwich was great - this BBQ is sweet and tangy not like South Carolina BBQ. My companion had the fried catfish dinner and the fish was absolutely perfect fried in a light cornmeal crust. Standard sides were satisfactory.... More

Having had KC BBQ many many times I will tell you this place is worth your time if in the area. Prices are good and the food is as well. Not my favorite place but it is well worth a visit if you like BBQ in a basic environment. I like ordering meat by the pound at a counter, no... More

Here is something you hardly get a restaurants anymore ( homemade fries ) and they are very good. So, if you want some great BBQ and like homemade fries this is the place to eat.

The food here is very good, with a variety of all types of meat and sides. The restaurant isn't a lot to look at on the inside; it's about what you would expect for a BBQ joint. The portions were ample and the price was very reasonable. The sides were good. Note that fries are separate, and they are worth... More

When you walk in, you order at the counter. I ordered the combination plate with beef and ham. Both had good taste, but were on the dry side. The sauce had good flavor. My wife had the wings. They tasted good and were crispy under the sauce. Just too much sauce. Our sides were pretty plain. There was nothing special... More

we walked in and had to stop for a minute to ascertain that you ordered at the counter right in front of you and then sat down. therefore, there was nothing i would call service. I had the 3 meat sweetwater plate. it was more than I can eat (I'm 6'1, 210 pounds). I had the ribs, bbq beef, and... More

My hubs and I popped in here right when we moved, and we weren't disappointed. The portions are good, it's affordable, and it's very tasty! It is not the BEST BBQ in the world, but pretty darn good for a local place. It's very casual...an order at the counter and they'll call your number kind of place. Make sure you... More

Was out at Ft. Leonard Wood and Sweetwater was recommended so I decided to check it out. The restaurant had an authentic BBQ restaurant look. The staff was friendly and knew their menu and explained to those who weren’t regulars. I ordered the Combo platter, Turkey and Beef Brisket. I have had a lot of BBQ in my day and... More
