Stumbled here accidentally because our original destination was closed on Sundays. Great food - I enjoyed the sea food special. Great prices; you get lots. Nice atmosphere, good service. Food came quickly and was very freshly prepared with avocados and veggies. Would like to return for a Margarita some evening when not driving!

This place isn't going to win any 'cutting edge' awards for their Mexican food, but it is a very decent spot if you're in the area - and a very good value. The only real complaint is that it can be hard to find truly spicy food here (you've got to ask). They have a great 'pick two or three'... More

Met for lunch at El Indio Mexican Restaurant today. This restaurant is located at the corner of Manchester Road and Berry Road and the outside of the building is distinctive, but looks a little like a kid's art project. Inside the decor is not fancy and neither is the menu. Chips and salsa show up on arrival at the table... More

First, the El Indio pictured is not the one in St. Louis, which is in an old Pizza Hut building. If you like to pretend to like Mexican food, while being served the blandest of the bland, such as ground beef that seems like it was boiled, accompanied by salsa with so little heat that I could probably pour it... Try Taco Tuesday (or Monday) $1 tacos! My personal favorite is the Jalisco Special - so good, though.

Seems like a Mom & Pop mexican place. The shrimp chimichanga deep fried crispy with melted cheese on top. GOOD. Fajita Quesadilla is also top notch. Small place, totally unique. Good Taco Salad. Big Giant crispy shell

Food is good and cheap. Service is some of the worst in the city.

I love this place. They have a pretty big menu, good prices, and the staff is always friendly and fun. El Indio also has great food/drink specials during the week. Go there!

There is a certain type of Mexican restaurant here in St. Louis. El Indio belongs in that category, along with El Maguey and El Nopal, and Mi Ranchito in U City. When you see process cheese sauce at a "Mexican" restaurant--or anywhere else for that matter--it's time to go elsewhere. At least the other three nearly identical restaurants have BOGO... More
