Passing through St. Louis, I decided to ask Siri where I can eat some oysters. Siri found this place four miles from Barns-Jewish Hospital. Don’t let the outside of the building scare you away……go inside! The interior is very rustic as you can feel the southern bayou ambience. Mary the server knows her menu and the market prices for fresh... More

Laid back atmosphere. Have eaten inside and outside. Live entertainment outside, food, beer! Everything I had was wonderful- BUT the alligator cheesecake is AMAZING! I go just for that!

Great pre-game, pre-concert meal! This was our 2nd trip and we will be back! Highly suggest calling ahead for preferred seating. It can take a significant time off your wait time!

I recommend calling for "priority" seating. All I can say is the food is awesome! My dad is from Lousianna and loved it! Wish they were closer!!

Thanks for the great review. Glad you and your "Louisiana Dad" loved it. The only bad news is that we may never get much closer to you than we already are. You may have to move closer to us! We would love to see you again under any circumstances. John More

Best advice: If you go on a weekend, be prepared to stand and wait for over a well-worth-it hour! This place is insane on a Friday night. We went and were packed in like sardines. Luckily, we were able to belly up to the bar for a drink and it helped us to pass the time. Keep in mind, this... More

Crazy. Eclectic. Exceptional food. Interesting experience. I think I am going to really like this review! Thanks for all of the kind words and very happy you enjoyed the food and the experience. Your description of BOB is right on for a Friday or Saturday night. The rest of the week is a lot calmer and maybe better for those... More

Found this on the internet. This Place was Packed on Saturday afternoon. Go early, we had a very long wait. The Wait was worth it. The gumbo was better than I had in Mobile. Being from Maryland very near Chincoteague, Va. The Oysters were good. Still like Chincoteague better.

Glad the wait was worth it. We like Chincoteague oysters too and serve them whenever we can get them but sometimes all you East Coast oyster eaters gobble them all up and don't leave any for us poor Midwesterners! Glad you liked BOB and thank you for the kind words. John More

There is a lot of atmosphere in this old building - some nostalgic, some tacky, some malodorous, some 'just gotta try it out'. The main building has good vintage feel - additions have increased the capacity. Service is abrupt, but reasonably efficient; there is good teamwork. I felt underserved while waiting and rushed when the server was present. There was... More

Thank you for the review. Lots of focus on "atmosphere" in our recent reviews and we see that as a good thing. Very happy your overall impression was a good one. The 160 year old original building is part charm, part challenge. Thanks again for your thoughts and we hope to see you back someday soon. John More

This is the most atmospheric Blues bar ever. Nestled, across from Busch stadium ,on Broadway, in a somewhat seedy 100 year old building with a small fireplace, that is lit in the cool months, it lies between two active rail road trestles that complete the "down home" ambience. The tables are wooden, and well worn. The bands here are memorable, especially... More

Thanks for the great review. "Atmospheric" is a good word to describe BOB. The main building is actually 160 years old and you build up a lot of "atmosphere" in 160 years. Glad you enjoy the music and the vibe and we look forward to seeing you regularly, especially on Monday nights. John More

The patio seating is interesting and we were a little skeptical when we sat down but the service was good and the food was great! I will definitely eat here again when I'm in St. Louis!

"Interesting" and "skeptical" are two words we hear a lot in conjunction with BOB. We are definitely "interesting" in many ways. We love interesting. Many of our new customers are a little skeptical due to our "divey" appearance but luckily we usually win them over, thus our slogan " Leave Your Attitude at Home". Thanks for the kind words and...
