One of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to. Located in "the Hill" which is known as the Italian area of St. Louis. There are so many restaurants to choose from within walking distance of each other. Will try another one next time I'm in St. Louis

We always stop when in town for toasted ravioli. Always good food and great service. One of these days we will try something from entree menu.

Every year I visit St. Louis on business, and every year we eat at two places Carmine's and Mama's. As a large group, we are seated in the back room and treated like family. Lots of fried spinach, and fried ravioli while we wait for our dinners. Like Carmine's, I have never had a bad meal at Mama's. To the... More

Have eaten at this place for years and am never disappointed. They hire the best waiters who are more than willing to make a wine or dinner selection. Fun place to dine and prices are reasonable.

My husband and I stopped yesterday Sat., for a late lunch, on the recommendation of some friends. Yes, the decor is somewhat dated, but seemed to fit right into a local neighborhood " Hill" scene. They brought out a bowl of bread after we asked, along with the wrapped, hard as a rock butter squares. After we had consumed a... More

I am assuming that restaurants on the hill like the outdated look but that being said it was a normal crowded (table wise) Italian restaurant on The Hill. However the service was excellent and everyone seemed to enjoy their food no complaints. Portions are large. They could use a bit more attention to the cleanliness of the restrooms in the... More

My daughter and I were cruising The Hill after a long day at the St. Louis Zoo looking for a place for dinner. There was a parking place right across the street from Mama Campisi's, so we accepted the good fortune. (On the narrow streets of The Hill, parking is at a premium.) We were greeted promptly and shown to... More

I travel for a living and during a recent visit to St. Louis I was eager to go to "The Hill". A relative took me to this restaurant last week (Aug, '14) and upon entering it was taken back by the dumpy décor. This joint looked like a refurbished basement in the Bronx. Mind you it was August and no... More

We decided to check this restaurant out, first because we love our Italian, and second, we know this place was revamped on the Restaurant Impossible show on FNS. Not impressed at all. Service was okay. Food fair to average. We tried the fried ravioli, fried cheese sticks, and spaghetti. We've had better. Really disappointed it wasn't better tasting then we... More

Seeing this restaurant featured on Food Network's "Restaurant Impossible" we had to go during our visit to St. Louis. Our visit was at least a year after the show aired. It was fun to see the restaurant first-hand. Restaurant is cozy, but plenty of room to eat and enjoy your table's conversation without feeling crowded by another table. Service is... More
