Description: Back and better than ever. This casual restaurant, bar, and boat rental facility, located in the heart of Forest Park on Post-Dispatch Lake, is like no other place in St. Louis. The Boathouse has undergone major renovations thanks to a gift from the Jack Taylor family. In the warm weather enjoy leisurely boat rides, lakeside patio dining, cold drinks, live music, and beautiful sunsets. In the cold weather enjoy indoor dining for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch…or just come and enjoy a glass of wine or a hot chocolate while relaxing around the large stone wood-burning fireplace. **Due to increased traffic in the Park during our busy season, we’ll be able to accommodate reservations for large parties only, 10-16 people, for indoor dining at specific times. Otherwise, our seating is available on a first come, first serve basis.

We ate a late lunch here after spending all day in Forest Park. We were were going to sit on the heated patio, but it was so cold, we opted to sit inside right by the huge fireplace! It was definitely not a busy day, so the service was extremely fast. I was pleasantly suprised by the prices. We paid... More

We went to the Boathouse with friends and our children after ice skating at Steinberg Skating Rink in Forest Park. Since it is also in the park we thought we would give it a try. We had been here before many years ago. I had the black bean veggie burger with fries. It was good, but nothing you wouldn't expect... More

We had no trouble getting a table on a cold Sunday morning at 11:30 after Mass. We were seated by a beautiful fireplace in the center of the dining room so that got things off to a great start. The waitress was friendly and attentive. I ordered a Bloody Mary and we checked out the menu. There are lots of... More

I love taking one of the paddle boats on the lake, and then coming back for lunch at the Boathouse restaurant. The food there is tasty and the drinks are wonderful.

Have been several times, this last visit started out a bit disappointing with the manners of the "host". The disappointment quickly disappeared with the waiter, who was personable and friendly. Of course the food is good, and the surroundings amazing. Eat outside, even if it's a bit cold.

Walked up to see beautiful views of the water. Great patio to sit and feed the ducks if you wanted too. Went into a greatly designed restaurant that made you feel welcomed. Great menu choices. Delicious food... Great fast service.

Upon recommendation from some friends that live in the St. Louis area, my husband and I went to the Boathouse for lunch on a Monday. It was a bit chilly outside, so we opted to sit indoors. In the future, if I couldn't sit outside, I would select a different restaurant. The indoor dining area lacked character and felt a... More

Living in St Louis for several months. Today was my first, and last, visit to the Boathouse. I ordered the fish and chips but couldn't finish them because they were too greasy. The kitchen looked unclean from where I picked up my coffee (milk was served in a plastic cup!!). The table I sat at was sticky and there were... More

We stopped in for a snack and a couple of drinks on a Saturday afternoon. Our overall impression was of a restaurant that's not very well managed. It's nice that it's on the lake, but the lake itself and the paddleboats, etc. were kind of junky, so not much to look at. Our appetizer was good and the service was... More

We were leaving for a week of sun and fun in Mexico, but due to an early flight needed to stay in St. Louis the night before our flight. We wanted to get our vacation off to a great start and decided to take a chance on a restaurant we had never been to. The Boathouse in Forest Park was... More
