Description: Back and better than ever. This casual restaurant, bar, and boat rental facility, located in the heart of Forest Park on Post-Dispatch Lake, is like no other place in St. Louis. The Boathouse has undergone major renovations thanks to a gift from the Jack Taylor family. In the warm weather enjoy leisurely boat rides, lakeside patio dining, cold drinks, live music, and beautiful sunsets. In the cold weather enjoy indoor dining for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch…or just come and enjoy a glass of wine or a hot chocolate while relaxing around the large stone wood-burning fireplace. **Due to increased traffic in the Park during our busy season, we’ll be able to accommodate reservations for large parties only, 10-16 people, for indoor dining at specific times. Otherwise, our seating is available on a first come, first serve basis.

I rated this excellent because of the circumstances of having family together and enjoying the afternoon, weather, surroundings, and beautiful setting of the Boathouse.

Taking advantage of the unseasonably cool July weather, my friend & I decided on lunch at the Boathouse. It was crowded on a Thursday at noon, but the line moved very quickly and we were seated at a lakeside table in no time. The day was wonderful, watching all the paddle boaters on the lake. The menu is simple, hamburger/fish... More

I consistently have wonderful food at the Boathouse. The service is great and I love eating outside, BUT be careful of your skirt or pants as mine got caught in the rusted corner of the chair and tore a couple of small holes in my clothes. Just a heads up.

I was pleasantly surprised by this sweet place. It was a really hot day and we sat outside anyway under an umbrella. They were very good about bringing us ice cold water. We ordered a salad and sandwich, which was delicious. I can't wait to go back to try the jumbo hot dog because it looked delicious too!

Boathouse is such a dichotomy - the food is just average American fare, but the atmosphere and view is spectacular. First, the food. The menu is completely unoffensive and even the pickiest eaters should find something to eat. There were a variety of large salads, pizzas, and sandwiches which all sounded just fine and were reasonably priced. I suppose since... More

Located inside the park and right on the lake that leads to the Grand basin, this restaurant offers a relax and chic atmosphere. Dogs lovers and family love to spend their time here, especially over the weekend. The menu is nothing spectacular, though it is quite alright. The paddleboats are available to rent, which is a huge hit for family... More

The Boathouse is one of those places that everyone wants to try, at least once. It is in a gorgeous setting with tables inside and out, overlooking a charming little lake. Diners under umbrellas look out over the lake as families and young couples paddle little boats and ducks dance on the water. This is all very true and saves... More

Long wait (45 minutes) with many tables open... because they didn't have enough servers on duty until the night shift came on duty. Food was OK. Kids loved the paddle boats!

It was nice to sit outside and listen to the outdoor concert that was going on a short way away. I got a salad which was very good, but beware...the mac and cheese was soooo cheesy it tasted like you you were eating a hunk of velveeta. Fish and chips were good and the portion was large.

My boyfriend and I decided to go to the Boathouse for the first time since their re-opening and we weren't disappointed. We asked the parking angels for help in find a spot in the lot and after three circles around it worked! We knew we'd have a wait, so we each got a drink from the bar and relaxed while... More
