Back and better than ever. This casual restaurant, bar, and boat rental facility, located in the heart of Forest Park on Post-Dispatch Lake, is like no other place in St. Louis. The Boathouse has undergone major renovations thanks to a gift from the Jack Taylor family. In the warm weather enjoy leisurely boat rides, lakeside patio dining, cold drinks, live music, and beautiful sunsets. In the cold weather enjoy indoor dining for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch…or just come and enjoy a glass of wine or a hot chocolate while relaxing around the large stone wood-burning fireplace. **Due to increased traffic in the Park during our busy season, we’ll be able to accommodate reservations for large parties only, 10-16 people, for indoor dining at specific times. Otherwise, our seating is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Fun location, especially for tourists. Not exactly what I'd call the most hip place, but my parents loved it, we got fantastic service from Ashlee, and the view was pretty. Food was basic but well done and tasty and not overpriced. Parking is plentiful and free, but the place isn't large.

The location is the reason I first visited this restuarant; I was interested in learning more about the World Fair held in 1904 which was held in Forrest Park. My expectations were low as most public attraction facilities, particularly restaurants, tend to at best, just average. The facility had recently had some renovation but retained the charm of the original... More

The Boathouse is a short walk from the Zoo. It is a destination all its own. They have paddle boats for rent ($17 hour). You can paddle boat over to the Grand Basin at the foot of Art Hill and the Art Museum. We had lunch at the Boathouse. The Hill Sandwich was really good it was loaded with Italian... More

A nice looking restaurant in the heart of Forest Park. You can rent paddle boats before or after you eat or just skip eating and paddle away. We utilized the outside bar and the bartender was friendly, but didn't know an ale from a stout. Food is average. Been here a few times and the menu is not that impressive.... More

We arrived at 10 am for Sunday brunch. The employee who open the gate did not greet anyone or say anything when she opened for business. The hostess greeted us with inside or outside? What happened to Good Morning, Hello, Welcome? Our waiter was friendly but not knowledgeable about the menue. When my friend asked a question about a menue... More

We went to just drive and look at forest park and found the boathouse in the park near the zoo. Great scenery of the lake, great food and local beer, and the service was wonderful. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We arrived at 5:30, got great free parking just outside of the Muny, and were seated indoors immediately for our group of five. The don't seat every table as the kitchen can't support all the tables. I don't doubt the other reviews, but water was brought to us without asking and service was very prompt. In fact, we had appetizers... More

In the past, we have had wonderful experiences with The Boathouse and Catering St. Louis. However, last night (7/26/15) was less than desirable. It started out great getting a drink from Shannon at the outside bar. We asked for first available and as we were being seated we walked by 3 outdoor open tables near fans. Our table was in... More

The atmosphere here is wonderful - it's so peaceful to enjoy lunch while overlooking the lake. Ducks swim right up the patio and even hop out. There are also adirondack chairs where you can sit and enjoy only a drink if you prefer that. The food and service were both great and the prices are very reasonable. My only suggestion... More
