Description: Back and better than ever. This casual restaurant, bar, and boat rental facility, located in the heart of Forest Park on Post-Dispatch Lake, is like no other place in St. Louis. The Boathouse has undergone major renovations thanks to a gift from the Jack Taylor family. In the warm weather enjoy leisurely boat rides, lakeside patio dining, cold drinks, live music, and beautiful sunsets. In the cold weather enjoy indoor dining for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch…or just come and enjoy a glass of wine or a hot chocolate while relaxing around the large stone wood-burning fireplace. **Due to increased traffic in the Park during our busy season, we’ll be able to accommodate reservations for large parties only, 10-16 people, for indoor dining at specific times. Otherwise, our seating is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Whether you go the Forest Park to visit the Zoo or the Science Center or the Muny or the History Museum or whatever, trust me, you inevitably will cross paths with the Boathouse restaurant. In fact, you might not even go there to order a blue cheese burger or fresh salmon Greek salad. Instead, you may be renting a boat.... More

Smart short menu for a busy sunny afternoon on the lake. The blue cheese burger and the fresh salmon Greek salad where delicious. Our server Karen was attentive and professional. Will be back!

Were at the Boathouse yesterday for brunch after the charity 5k in Forest Park. Looked forward to brunch. Since our last visit ( a couple of years ago) the menu has changed. Probably 50% less to choose from on the brunch menu, the only menu we were offered (visited around 11am). We chose the bagel/salmon and egg/chorizo wrap options from... More

We were in vacation and booked the Moonlight Paddle boat Picnic. It was absolutely wonderful! The picnic basket was full of yummy stuff and the wine was tasty. Beautiful night on the water and super helpful boys at the dock. I will be recommending to anyone I know coming to St Louis!

The Boat House is always a fun place to spend the afternoon. Start out with lunch, I recommend the pizza and a beer. Then head on down to the dock and rent a paddle boat to paddle the Grand Basin. Relaxing and beautiful.

Stopped at the Boathouse after a recent visit to the art museum. Although it was an extremely warm weekend we opted for an outside table with a view of the water. We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings while we sipped on some Iced Teas and nibbled on some spinach and artichoke dip and a basket of beer battered fries. Service was... More

After two recent visits to the boathouse after they have modified their menu I have come to the conclusion that the boathouse is not what it used to be. On the first visit our appetizer (pretzel plate) never showed up and the PO-Boy sandwich was served with the roumelaide sauce which is the major favor profile of the sandwich. On... More

If you want to park one time, enjoy a great meal and walk over to the MUNY for a musical, this is your restaurant. I enjoyed a delicious salad with Salmon on top! Their happy hour beer was refreshing! They do not take reservations, so get their early.

Didn't eat here but a lot of people there. I overheard the hostess tell someone there was an hour and a half wait (this was during the week around noon). We just rode the paddle boats. Very nice views paddling around the lakes. It's a bit pricey at $17/hour AND IT'S A LOT OF WORK! It's not a relaxing spin... More

Great atmosphere, horrible food. Pretzel appetizer came to table scalding hot to the point where you burned yourselfjust touching them while our entrees came out undercooked and cold. I ordered two pizzas for my kids which came to the table without all the cheese fully melted, an obvious sign they were frozen pizzas and my burger came to the table... More
