We ate outside, had excellent food, good wine, an attentive waiter and beautiful weather. Other than the last item, the restaurant was responsible for the rest. what more can I say?

Almond's is a favorite for many in the neighborhood. The food is good and the staff is friendly. The bartender makes the best cosmo in town. The pork tenderloin is terrific as are the fried chicken and pizza. Prices are quite reasonable. The restaurant is within walking distance of a number of Clayton hotels so please try it when you're... More

I chose Almonds for my birthday dinner because I enjoy the atmosphere and have always been happy with the food. Not so tonight. The chopped salad was nothing special, lacked salt and interest. My risotto was filled with unappetizing vegetables and pungent cheese. Another diner at my table was very disappointed with terrible and unedible peas and dry tasteless chicken.... More

We chose Almonds for our son's wedding rehearsal dinner. We had 80 guests so the restaurant was closed to the public during our party. Kelli and her husband Tony have a wonderful menu. We had a buffet including some of their most popular items: mushroom risotto, Cajun shrimp, pan fried chicken, smoked salmon, beef tenderloin. Even though we had a... More

I'd have to be nuts to go back to back to Almonds. To call our dinner experience there "mediocre" is generous. The service was less than gracious, and the meal less than average. A chopped vegetable salad tasted like cole slaw with grated cheese, a medium filet was small, thin, and overdone and an oven roasted Idaho trout was indistinguishable... More

Having been to almost every restaurant in St. Louis, we keep returning to Almonds. This restaurant is consistently good, friendly, unpretentious. Rarely are reservations required.

I've been to Almond's several times, most recently last week. I find this place #1 when it comes to not being able to have a pleasant conversation if you have 4 or 5. It has always been my issue with this restaurant. It is SO noisy. I ordered the fried, boneless chicken breasts. They were small, overcooked and plopped on... More

This restaurant is nicely decorated and the staff was friendly. The gumbo was very good. I don't understand why other reviewers raved about the fried chicken...ours was dry. To be fair, I grew up in a family of fabulous southern cooks so perhaps my personal expectation for fried chicken is too high. The seating area had two distinct halves--bar side... More

My husband and I chose Almonds for dinner recently to celebrate a personal milestone. First the "good." And there are several things that are quite good. The room itself is nicely decorated including a tree in the midst of the dining area. The menu includes a variety of interesting entrees. We both had the peppercorn filet which was excellent. Also... Great food, great atmosphere, and service. Overall it's my favorite restaurant I've ever been to. I've gone many times and will continue to keep going just as many others do. Truly a great place.
