I learned a lot about ribs during our trip. The big names in the business like pappy's and brewhouse (or something like that) are owned by the same people. Those ribs are memphis ribs and dry rub. Ropers is true original st. louis ribs. They are delicious! They fall right off the bone and tender and downright scrumptious. We go... More

Who has the best BBQ, Houston, Memphis or Kansas City...that is the question? Well, through St. Louis in the mix, in particular Roper's BBQ. My wife and I traveled to St. Louis for a long weekend getaway from our home town of Memphis and we had to try some BBQ. We heard that Roper's is one of the best in... More

Denise and Carl Roper run the best BBQ joint in the country, hands down. I was in St. Louis and wanted to find the best St. Louis style ribs. When I searched the net, Roper's was number 1. I soon found out for myself why. First off, Denise Roper is the best hostess of any restaurant... EVER!!! Carl is the... More

Second visit to Roper's Ribs and owners Carl and Denise are as nice as can be. Have had the ribs & snoots combo and the wings & snoots combo. Both were outstanding. Hard to find a snoot sandwich anywhere, much less one as good as the one served here. Surroundings and furnishings are on the plain side, but if you... More

My wife and I decided to drive over to Ropers Ribs from our hotel to get BBQ for dinner. I read the reviews that there are only a few tables to eat on and they were taken by customers waiting on takeouts. I counted 3 tables in the extra small room. There was a six feet tall counter where you... More

Heard about, had to stop. 2nd best in the country. Everything was good. Brisket and ribs are perfect. Very smokey. When you see a line out the door and police cars in front, those are two great signs you found a winner. It hit the mark as the best in St. Louis.

Coming from Carolina for 10 years and KC 8 years (and eating a lot of bbq) I can honestly say this is the 2nd best bbq place I've ever eaten, 2nd only to OK Joes, and had I tried other dishes it may have even surpassed this. My girlfriend and I ate a beef brisket sandwich and a pulled pork... More
