Tried the chicken salad sandwich. It was bland and on thin toast. I wasn't impressed. Hoping the to-go desserts are enjoyable!

We sought this restaurant out on a friend's recommendation. A very friendly and neighborly atmosphere. We ordered the quiche du jour, bowtie pasta, and Le Vol au Vent. Portions were large and all were wonderful. The adjoining bakery was also quite a treat! Counters full of delicious pastries. My wife and daughter especially enjoyed their multitude of macaroons.
The French onion soup is to die for. My husband and I go there just for that but have tried other dishes and they were excellent. What a place to experience French cuisine! Oh, and the pastries...we never leave without taking some home.
I have been there a few times to pick up a cake or a treat for my family, this past week we ate there for breakfast with some girls before heading back home. (We live in Cape Girardeau, MO).
We were all very impressed with the new renovations and the breakfast quiche. The eggs Benedict was delicious and the portions...

I gave a wedding shower at this restaurant and the staff was amazing! The food and service exceeded ALL my expectations. The planning process spanned over three months, with many changes. The dining room manager, as well as the owner, were always patient, supportive and made many helpful suggestions. My guests were "wowed" by the french ambiance and the delicious...

Small inside eating area, but great desserts! They also have sandwiches and great lunch items. I don't know if they serve dinner, we just went for lunch.
La Bonne Bouchee has superb French pastries and informal food. Their pastry cases contain treats that compete with the bakers in Paris. They have a wide variety of cookies, cakes, and other pastry treats. The restaurant has great French sandwiches, soups, salads and quiches. The staff is willing to work with your dietary needs and able to explain various dishes.

To be honest, I wanted to give this place a three, but I couldn't bring myself to it because the desserts are just too good. My advice? Skip the meal.
I've been here multiple times for lunch, and the actual meals, for lack of better words, are terrible. It's sad that a place making such good desserts have such bad...

Take you time and enjoy a glass of wine with your meal; the wine list is quite nice although small. You must choose a truly French delicacy for dessert to enjoy there and to take home. You'll return often. Olivier is a master chef.
