This old-fashioned ice cream soda fountain with hand-made chocolates also has some of the best basic sandwiches you'll ever eat, whether it be a yummy chili dog, terrific Reuben, or my favorite the blt...open wide...its stacked with bacon! You must accompany these with a delicious thick milk shake or REAL malted, served the old way in a metal shaker that... More

An old fashioned soda fountain that is a St. Louis landmark. Not only do tourists hit this spot up but so do people from the bi-state area. The shakes are hand-dipped and huge. The must-have BLT sandwich is a show stopper. The rumor is that they have a dedicated employee making bacon to keep up with the orders. There is... More

I think most people come here for the ice cream and shakes and those shakes are among the best I've ever had. But there is another bonus and that's just for the food. The sandwiches are piled high with ingredients. The BLT must have been a half pound of bacon and the ham sandwich the same. We'll be back.

My husband and I enjoyed lunch at Crown Candy Kitchen on the Friday of Labor Day with my parents. The line was long, but we enjoyed talking with other patrons about the art accross the street, the St. Louis anniversary cake sculpture out front & watching the video from Man vs. Food. The BLTs were huge and the shakes wonderful.... More

A one pound of bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich. Milk shakes full of flavor and ice cream. This is a place to see politicians, police, firefighters and of course the average man and women and kiddos. Oh, great chocolate treats. It is worth the trip.

Great place to visit, small seating though if you have a large party. But it works if your open to old style booths, 4 people to a booth. Food is good, the shakes are large enough to share. I loved the history & preservation of the place. I'm glad we made the stop.

If you live or are visiting St. Louis this is a must see restaurant. It is very casual and the food is affordable and terrific! It is a very small place and there are no tables that you can put together for large groups. Tables can hold between 2-4 people. The wait for a table can be a while at... More

This place is a step back in time. This is small place, but the atmosphere is amazing! They ahve the best food in STL. The BLT is 3-4" high. The malts are outstanding. This palce was on man vs food. The neighborhood is a little sketchy, but they are doing things to upgrade it. They ahve lots of homemade candy... More

Our timing for this restaurant was perfect! There was no line and we had the perfect table. The table was a bit small for taller adults but we still enjoyed it. The sandwich portions are extremely large and so are the sundaes. The candy is expensive but you can purchase the minimum quantity. The hand-dipped ice cream and malts are... More

We have been hearing rave reviews about Crown Candy Kitchen for years. We finally made the trip on a beautiful Fall Saturday afternoon. Yes, there was a line, but we were fortunate to be the only "two-some" in line. A gentleman came out and asked if there were any groups of two, and we were seated after only waiting a... More
