Nice place

I had the BLT which was big and the bacon was thick. and a hand dipped milk shake. I enjoyed looking at the old time ice cream memorabilia. It is a hole in the wall restaurant and space is limited It is always packed. So be prepared. I would go back

Went for the BLT. Had that and the best chocolate shake ever. The bacon was piled so high I couldnt figure out how they kept it from tumbling over. More importantly, the flavor was killer! Crisp fried with this beautiful toast and fresh tomatoes and lettuce. A swipe of mayo and a smile from the waitress made this a lunch... More

Crown's Candy has earned its place in history! The sandwiches are the best I've ever had. The candy is cool but I don't have a sweet tooth so I'm not the best person to critique their candy/chocolate-making abilities. However, judging from the ever present line that seems to wrap around the building everyday, I'd say everything about them is great!... More

Most locals remember visiting Crown Candy as children for ice cream and lunches, but as the neighborhood declined, many stopped going. Now that the amazing Old North neighborhood has been significantly and beautifully rebuilt and refurbished, yes, you can now go back and have that BLT made with a whole package of bacon. (I'll stick to something smaller or the... More

Unless you arrive early, you'll be waiting in a long line to eat lunch at this tiny spot. But it is well worth the wait. Don't let the neighborhood scare you away (and the neighborhood itself is up-and-coming!). The ice cream shakes are divine (served in a glass with the extras that were blended up brought to the table in... More

Old time candy kitchen. Huge BLT's - ask for the Mayo on the side to reduce the guilt. Brainfreeze Malts in the classic stainless mixer cans! Deluxe - be prepared to share with the kids in line.

Delicious milkshakes, wonderful candy, great sandwiches in an old-school diner atmosphere. Get your directions clear before you go, because a wrong turn will probably make you feel lost quickly, but this is a great place worth going out of your way. Easter candy lines are VERY LONG, but they do know how to move the crowds.

HUGE amount of wonderfully cooked bacon on this piled high sandwich! Big enough that two of us shared one, then shared a sundae. Disadvantage - waiting on line for a table, though the wait wasn't terribly long.

If you are a bacon enthusiast you will absolutely be in bacon heaven once you tasted this BLT. They use a whole package of bacon. To wash it down you will want to have one of their chocolate malts. Visit during the day because this is not a safe area in Saint Louis.
