The line was nearly an hour long due to the popularity, but once inside the food and service was very good. We each got the big cheese, which was a grilled cheese with 4 different cheeses and milkshakes. There is very limited seating inside, but if you are just wanting to get a milkshake or a sandwich to go, you... More

I was a bit nervous about going here because of the reviews I had read mentioning the neighborhood. . We had absolutely no problem at all, and the area seemed just fine at lunch time on a weekday. We had the famous BLT, a bowl of chicken tortilla soup (the soup of the day) and a butterscotch malt. My daughter... More

The food is very good, and the experience is priceless. If you go for lunch, get there no later than 11:30. A line begins forming at 11:15. The candy counter is very nostalgic and the malts are fantastic. http://crowncandykitchen.net/about/

Most days you may wait in line for this quaint little place, but if you are in the mood for a BLT and shake (yes not healthy) thisa is the place to go! More bacon than you can believe on the the BLT and the shakes are the same HUGE!!

I have eaten here a couple of times. The food was good - I had the BLT - but to be honest, the place has been over-hyped. How hard is it to make a BLT? The draw on this one was the excessive amount of bacon, which was WAY too much. I had to take some off just to take... More

When you go to Crown Candy, one of the first things you will notice will be the line snaking out the door and even around the corner. Yes, you have to wait. There are only a few booths and they are small. So, you are almost always going to have to wait. (Late afternoon--after 3 is good.) The "diner" food... More

If you are only in St Louis for a few days, you must visit Crown Candy Kitchen at 14th and St Louis Ave. they make their own ice cream and hot fudge. The BLT sandwich is a must have...but, save room for a shake or fantastic sundae.

This is a small, old fashioned soda fountain. You can't go wrong with the food or desserts. My grandson and I both love this place. They have a contest that if you eat a certain number of sundaes, you get them free. He keeps daring me to try it. :) Great Patty Melts, burgers etc. Delicious and fun.

A trip to Crown Candy Kitchen is a must do for both visitors and locals in St. Louis. When you enter the doors it is literally, like a trip back in time to an old fashioned soda fountain. You an take a stool at the soda fountain or have a seat in any one of the original booths lined up... More
