My boyfriend and i are on holiday from Australia and we were told about this gem from locals. We went here about 11:45 on 31/7/2014 but the were too many people outside waiting! We decided to go to the butterfly house. We finished there just after 15:00 so we thought we should go back to Crown Candy, what a great... More

I love how original this restaurant/kitchen is. It is incredibly tiny but full of charm. If you are visiting for the first time I would advise you to come early in the morning. The lines get crazy long! There is probably about 15 tables or less inside (very small). I think it was worth the wait. My family enjoyed our... More

I recently spent some time in STL with my family and man did we have a great time. One of our first meals was at the Crown Candy Kitchen. This is a no-frills throwback diner/soda-fountain type place...just the way I like 'em! The dining area is pretty small and do not be turned off by the line outside the door... More

In a day and time where yesterday is fading, my son and I wanted to try this place after seeing the milkshake challenge on M v F. It could have easily been a bad experience, but opting to not look at the line, but talk to people while we waited proved to set the tone. We tried the sandwiches and... More

We came here on Tuesday around 12:15 and we knew there would be a line. We have been lucky enough to be having one of the coolest Julys on record but it was one of the hotter days when we went. Still, the 20+ minutes we had to wait outside wasn't unbearable with two young kids. They have a cooler... More

We really enjoyed this place. Yummy ice cream and yummy banana split. It's not in the best area of town so be prepared! I was asked for money twice on our way out and homeless on the corner.

I love a good old-fashioned malt and Crown Candy does them best! I also ordered a frank and it was delicious. The chips that came with it were a little stale but the meal overall was great. Overall, a bit of a risky neighborhood but we always go during the day and never have problems.

Yes, it's a relatively small place -- so you usually have to wait for a table, and that usually means waiting outside. (We arrived at 12:15 on a Sunday for lunch and waited 45 minutes for a table.) But for most people, that's just part of the fun - letting the anticipation build. They do have highchairs for kids, but... More

Visited this place for a malt. Yes it was a excellent malt. Great tight place to eat fast food or ice cream. Not sure if it was worth the twenty five mile round trip. Interesting neighborhood. I believe it's the only place in that area that uses parking meters to get the change from visitors...would only repeat if I was... More

You walk in and step back into the 1900's at this soda fountain. They have great sandwiches and desserts. Don't miss thw heartstopper BOLT and the hand dipped milkshakes!
