Staff was friendly and helpful. There was live mUsic at nine which was great, not to loud. We had fish and chips. If we are in St Louis again we would return.

Stopped in for a bite for lunch and loved it! While not busy while we were there, this place is huge! If you're in the area, you must stop in. The food was very good and the service exceptional.

Had my first visit to John D. McGurk's on Friday and wow! The atmosphere was incredible - lively but not over the top. The patio is fully enclosed so you can sit outside comfortably. It was pouring rain on Friday, but we were snug inside, watching the rain pour down. My husband and I had fish and chips. After living... More

Had lunch with a bunch of guys at McGurk's while visiting St. Louis and loved it. The offerings were all tempting and ended up very tasty and nicely presented. Home made soda bread accompanied my spinach salad and both were impressive. Others had their club sandwich, Irish stew, fish and chips. Everyone loved their meal. Nice atmosphere inside an old... Did our research before visiting St. Louis to find places to eat close by where we were staying. If at all possible, we will always find an Irish Pub to visit. We planned on visiting McGurk's as an anniversary dinner and they did not disappoint. The atmosphere is great and we sat on the patio. It was a little cool... More

My husband, our son and his wife and their children visited here last night, Oct 18. The patio was just beautiful. I was concerned about being too cool so I brought a small, light blanket to lay over my legs and I was very comfortable. The atmosphere was very nice. I was surprised at the size of the patio area.... More

I knew the place from previous business trips and it is well-liked by locals so it was a safe and known place to go with my Army buddy's daughter, her husband and daughter. I had a great Guiness Stew and a really excellent crock of French Onion Soup.

We were pleasantly supprised with the fine outdoor dining that was available at McGurks. We had the option to sit inside or under a roof but it was such a nice night we elected to sit in the gardern. My wife's meal, herbed glazed salmon was excellent. Unfortunatley my corn beef meal was not. I am accustomed to having a... More

Ate dinner here last Friday night, September 26th and as usual, the outdoor patio was a beautiful venue to enjoy our meal. The seating is plentiful, both in covered areas and uncovered. The landscaping is lovely and very well maintained and it's quite pleasant to sit outdoors. The service is just "okay". I had the fish and chips and by... More

Had early supper here with a group. Irish (lamb) stew was OK, but nothing special. Bread pudding was served with a sweet fruit sauce, which didn't work for me. (Why not an Irish whiskey sauce? Bourbon flavored sauce is a big hit in Kentucky.) Atmosphere was a quasi-Irish local pub, so, if that's your thing, you'll enjoy it more than... More
