We were planning to eat at Tucker's Place steakhouse just down the block, but they were full so we came to McGurk's instead. Good choice! It's a pub-like atmosphere inside with exposed brick and dark wood, and the expansive beer garden outside with its fountains reminded us of Pat O'Brien's in New Orleans, which we had visited six weeks earlier.... My husband ordered the McGurk's cheeseburger and it was "the best burger" he said he can ever remember. It is served with their own home-made chips. I had a small Caesar Salad that was very cold and tasty. This Irish pub has an outdoor beer garden and is the perfect place to come for lunch or dinner.

Just returned from late afternoon lunch. The restaurant and and several bar areas were very busy so we were happy to get a table in the comfortable enclosed outdoor seating area (plastic sheeting walls). Service was great for drinks (Guiness and Smithwick's) and food. The corned beef sandwich and chips were excellent. There were several Irish plates also available. The... More

My husband and I are in our late thirties and we have been to many Irish pubs as we both have Irish great grandparents. We chose this place based on the reviews. When we got there (about 11:00pm) it was already pretty busy, seating is first come first serve and my husband and I scrambled to get a table. The... More

It's very rare that you come across, what is advertised as, a "True Irish Pub" from the home land and actually come close (and trust me there are tonnes of them in the US). Having said that this is one of them. They pour Guinness properly, the menu is fairly representative of the culture and the place is naturally cosy.... More

Over the years John D. McGurks Irish Pub has grown in size, but has not lost its charm. If the weather is good, the outside seating is perfect. They have a heater outside. Inside seating atmosphere is fun and well done. Great menu, good drinks, and great music makes this a perfect place to visit.

We only ordered appetizers, not full meals, so I can't really speak on the food. However, the apps we had (pretzels and toasted ravioli---"t ravs") were great. It was the atmosphere I loved. Truly an Irish pub. We were there on a COLD, slow night but I could see it would be one heck of a place to party on... More

Staff was friendly and helpful. There was live mUsic at nine which was great, not to loud. We had fish and chips. If we are in St Louis again we would return.

Stopped in for a bite for lunch and loved it! While not busy while we were there, this place is huge! If you're in the area, you must stop in. The food was very good and the service exceptional.
