My husband and I don't consider ourselves "foodies" meaning we don't plan our trips around restaurants (but we know a lot of people do). After we left the zoo we were looking for a place for lunch and a friend from home recommended Pappy's, but warned it might be crowded. At 1:00pm we were sure there wasn't a line. well,... More

We were in St Louis for business and was told I had to try Pappy's. Glad we did. Get there early as they sell out of the good stuff early. We arrived there at 6:30 and they were out of "burnt ends" and turkey.. not a problem, they had plenty of great choices left. The side dishes were great....they close... More

Limited BBQ menu. Ribs were dried out. Sides were very average. Beans tasted like they just came out of the can. Sauced also nothing special. Picnic table atmosphere. No beer or wine available. Appears to cater to the university crowd. Better options downtown.

Loved the atmosphere and the best BBQ I have ever eaten. Stopped by for lunch on my way to KC for work. So glad I did. Went back to KC a year later and stopped at Pappy's again on my way. I would have stopped on my way back had it not been after closing time. I will always stop... More

My husband and I love barbeque and Pappy's has some of the best ribs I've had and definitely the best brisket I've had. We usually get pork, but recently my husband brought home a slab of pork ribs and smoked sliced brisket from Pappy's. I could not get over how tasty that brisket was!! It was full of flavor! I... First off, let me say the people working here were top-notch. Really enjoyed talking with them while standing in line (20 minutes). Secondly, I'll admit that after living in Austin, TX for 10 years, I'm partial to Texas-style BBQ. My review: The ribs were amazing. The brisket, the loaded potato, the green beans and the fried corn were just OK.

We stopped on while in the area for geo Woodstock, the smell alone is worth a visit but the food is just incredible!!! Be sure to get there about 1 hour before you plan to eat because the will be a line. We had the Big Ben which was simply awesome and fed us both with left overs for the... More

Stopped in for lunch with my wife, had a about 20 people in line, went by fast. Order and food was ready in less than 2 minutes. Staff was friendly and very prompt. St Louis ribs were great! Sweet Potato fries were the bomb! Fried corn on the cob was OK.

I ate at Pappy's on a recent business trip to St. Louis and it was excellent. I had the ribs, burnt ends, frito pie with beef brisket, baked beans and fried corn on the cobb. The ribs and burnt ends were to die for and the baked beans were great. The addition of the baked beans to the frito pie... More
