This restaurant has been around for a very long time and I never knew it was there. I know it now and will return often. Very good German cuisine.

My mother, sister and I went for lunch today. We should have gone there sooner. It was like a trip back in time. My sister and I grew up on the opposite side of the block many years ago, leaving while quite young. Yet, we remember when this location was a grocery. What a wonderful surprise when we walked in.... We've been coming here for a couple of years now and the atmosphere and food are both wonderful. Andy and Larry are great people and they make the best cheeseburger I've ever had( only available the first full week of the month). I would absolutely recommend the a Cabbage Roll to anyone.

You MUST have reservations for the buffet (Friday 5-7 pm) but as soon as you arrive you will be seated if you do. The food is great and made in house....nothing corporate about this family restaurant. Best? cabbage rolls and fish....though the polish sausage, the German meat loaf and the lentil soup are all great, as are the desserts, which... More

It took a little while to get our food and the wait was worth it. This quaint establishment looks like an old corner tavern and was an excellent choice on our visit to St. Joe. I ordered the cabbage roll with a side of German fried potatoes. The decor made you feel as if you were in a small cafe... More

This is a must stop when I am back in St. Joe on vacation. The restaurant is located in a neighborhood setting. Everything is homemade and simply delicious. I always get the Cabbage Roll dinner with a side of sweet/sour red cabbage and am never dissapointed. It is as if my Grandmother was back in their kitchen cooking this meal... More

I usually take a trip from the mid-west to Denver at least once a year. Last year I stopped at the Cabbage Roll based on this site's reviews. I had such a nice experience that I made sure to save room for a meal at the Cabbage Roll on this year's trip too. The restaurant reminds me of my grandma's... More

Yes you read it correctly. The first week of every month is hamburger week, and they are by far the best hamburger and fries you can get out. They also have wonderful desserts. Super friendly staff, always making you feel welcomed.

I had the sample plate, with two types of kraut for the sides. And coffee. A full carafe of coffee. The restaurant feels old-town. Excellent real German motif. Friendly service that is informed in German things. They offer a buffet which I would love to try. Bring your friends! They don't serve beer, but I will say "Prost!"

A small quaint restaurant in the middle of Saint Joseph, no need to know German to enjoy a great plate of Northern German cuisine. Make sure you have seen all their daily specials for lunch or if possible stay over for their dinner buffet. You will want to come back, I only missed the fact it was a business lunch... More
