This restaurant had a very poor atmosphere and even worse service. The food was very medicore and did not settle well in my stomach. The whole place needs to change 👎👎

We sat down and I immediately realized we had to pay for our chips. Strike one. We get the chips and cheese sauce and the chips are the texture of a taco salad bowl. That could be their claim to fame. I then looked at the menu. There was little selection and everything was about $13 a plate. Not pleased,... More

I love going to Barbosa's every chance that I get. Nacho chips with the beefy cheese sauce is a good way to start off the meal but unless you have more than 2 in your group you may have to take some home. I have never been disappointed by anything I have ordered and eaten their. I love the combination... More

A coworker and I recently spent some time in St. Joseph. We tried to eat at local establishments we won't see near our homes. Our fourth night here, we opted to try Barbosa's on Frederick since it was very close to our hotel. We sat down and were quickly greeted by our friendly server. We ordered drinks and reviewed the... I'm originally from St. Joseph, so whenever my husband and I are back, we HAVE to go to Barbosa's. On our most recent trip back, I ordered the nachos and they were just as wonderful as I remember. Barbosa's has a different style of chips and I've never had anything quite like them at any other restaurant. In previous visits,... More

We were attracted to the building and that is a multi generational Hispanic, family owned establishment. Having the chance to eat inside was the draw. We took a day trip to St. Joe nearly one year ago today. We only stopped by because we thought maybe our grandson was hungry and we didn't want fast food. We ordered the chips... More

So glad we "had" to stop in St. Joseph on our road trip, and it just "had" to be about lunch time. Love this place, and only get there every few years. This time, I brought a cooler and bought a dozen extra frozen enchiladas to bring home. Yes, you have to pay extra for the chips and salsa. I... More

We often eat at Barbosa's, and it is consistently wonderful! The food is in a category all it's own. Old-world family recipes are still being used and the quality is awesome! We love the flour chips with avocado dip, and I assure you that you will find none like these anywhere else! I also had the "choice of three" which... More

We go there often and always enjoy the food and service. The Nachos Supreme is one of my favorites. Two locations in Saint Joseph - the one downtown is worth visiting just to see the building, Be sure to ask about going upstairs to see the vista of downtown Saint Joseph.

It was almost unrecognizable. I had a taco, enchilada and tamale? It is all unseasoned hamburger meat. Dry, with no sauces. You can order salsa and chips for $4. Don't bother, awful unedible cheapest chips from a big box store. But the service was good. The locals seem to love the place. Voted best for several years. All flour tortillas... More
