Upscale, trendy eatery that is consistently good: food is excellent and cooked to order, and service is equally always good. The place has recently changed ownership so it will remain to be seen if the quality remains high. Great wine selection. Prices are higher but commensurate with the venue. Dress is casual or business casual (though being in the Midwest,... More

Food was really good but extreme variations on portion sizes. Quail is what poor people eat and this place charges $13 for barely a bite or 2 while the pig tail was a much larger portion for 1/3 the price. Regardless this food was outstanding and I will be back again.

The food here is amazing! A foodies paradise you don't find often in a small town. I like a place that has a dynamic menu. The chef pays close attention to whats in season and the dishes always reflect that.

This restaurant is the one I recommend unconditionally to all of my friends and guests. The menu, created by a genuine French chef, is simply superb. A wine list with class and lots of variety rounds out the experience. Service staff is always knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive. Visit the Bad Art Bistro for any special occasion or just treat yourself... More

My family and I had a mixed experience. The atmosphere and food were very good. However, the quality was uneven. For example, the $24 lamb was outstanding and worth every penny. However, the mixed drinks were overrated and grossly overpriced. The bill was also miscalculated, as we were charged $12 for each small side salad instead of the $6-7 listed... More

The artwork is wonderful!...what a nice little place. The menu choices are very good.... a little eclectic and fairly broad. I had a fish special of salmon and cod intertwined in a spiral served over mashed potatoes...it was a wow. Others in my party where a little disappointed with the service, but I was pleased! The wait staff was very... More

The food is unique for St. Joseph MO. Great flavors and excellent menu items that provide flavors that go well together. The service was slow. We were there for hours. But the food is the best celebratory dinner in town.

Whenever I visit any city whether for business or pleasure, I seek out the local favorite restaurants. This past week, I was in the St. Joseph area on business, staying at a hotel just a few blocks away from the Bad Art Bistro. Since the online reviews were favorable, I decided to try the Bad Art Bistro. I tried the... More

I'm not going to get into the "this was a great place for such a small town" discussion which is rather condescending, I think. This was a great restaurant for any sized town. The bad art..lights, paintings, salt and pepper shakers..you get the idea...was inspired. The ozo buca was equally inspired as was my hubbies steak tartar prepared tableside. The... More

The art is definately weird, as the name implies but the food is fantastic and they know good wine and have great servers. Sure wish they were open on Sunday though.
