This is the first time Yelp and Trip Advisor let me down.I really had high hopes for this place but was totally disappointed. It wasn't very clean and the place was being over run by flies. I should have left then but decided to stay based on the ratings. My food had hair in it, our onion rings were ice... More

Friends from the area introduced us to this fabulous little eating place and it is a "must stop" for us each time we are in the area. We have had a variety of meals and never a bad one. Their homegrown meat is unbelievable!

It's been in the same spot on main street in St. Clair serving good food for generations. Family style restaurant with daily specials and a responsive wait staff. They still have a smoking section but I understand the town is talking about banning smoking in restaurants.

I agree with another reviewer that said that the food lacks seasoning. I, too, had the roast beef plate, and it was just...okay. I really didn't want to eat it, but I was famished. I don't know about tasting like frozen food, but I do know that it definitely was not what I wanted it to be. Roast beef should... More

Do go a bit off the road and find Lewis Café. We did and were rewarded with a much better than average lunch. Very nice lunch specials. I had a great pork BBQ steak with warm German potato salad and "doctored" baked beans...yummy. Dessert was even better. Home made pies. I enjoyed a huge piece of sugar free blackberry and... More

This is a litlle local restaurant that has fantastic breakfast. Its what you would picture as a small, locally owned diner. Great place.

Ok, nice saturday afternoon drive in the country. Look for a " local diner thats good", and find great reviews of this place. Who ever said its good needs to get out a bit more often. First off, there is smoking on both sides of the resturant. So dont go here if it offends you. Anyway, the service was pretty... More

It's not often you get 21st century diner-type food at 1960s prices, but here's a place that you can. The food was not elegant or haute in any way, but it was wholesome, and well-prepared. We were there for lunch, and saw on the menu sandwiches, burgers, salads, and such. Egg salad sandwich for $2.69 - really! (oops - out... More

Lewis Cafe in the center of St Clair has been in the same location since 1938 and is the best meeting place for friends and family to enjoy a good family style, home cooked meal with excellent service by friendly servers. The only downside, is they still allow smoking which detracts from an otherwise pleasant experience.

The only reason I didn't rate this place as Excellent is because there was too much cigarette smoke in the air. As a kid, both my parents smoked and lots of my relatives still do, so I don't have a problem with it in general, but it was a little overwhelming (I get headaches when exposed to too much of...
