We detoured our trip from Route 66 purposely to visit the cave for lunch on Monday, September 8. The sign indicated nothing except your location. We drove down the miles of road to the parking lot. There were no cars and it was blocked.v we decided to drive up the gravel road. We do not have a four-wheel-drive, so we... More

I am very sorry that you did not see the hours posted at the parking lot as well as on the brochure which state that the months of September & October we are closed on Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday. At the end of October we close for the season and will reopen at the end of April. As far as... More

I had a real surprise today. We were on our way home from Branson, MO and the two friends we were with ask if we wanted to eat in a cave. I thought "okay what ever". Wow, that was great! We parked and a van was there to drive us around to the face of the cliffs and there it... More

The wait to get to the resturaunt is ridiculous, then you go up in an old retro astro van which reeks of gas, the waitresses seem disinterested in their customers, debbie in particular was a total biotch. The wait on the food was way too long and that long of a wait for food lacking flavor is unworth it, i... More

There are good and bad points to this place. First the good... it is a very unique experience. You have to get on a shuttle to get to the restaurant, it is very cool. The restaurant is very cool, you really are in a cave to eat. The kitchen is downstairs and has a dumbwaiter to send food up to... More

Sure, it's sounds great but think again. To get to the restaurant, you have to park and take their "shuttle", which is a crappy old van. I'm thinking it was something like a 1995 Astro with no air. You get to the restaurant and it is in the most beautiful setting. They have so much to work with. However, it... More

Eating in a cave is awesome. The view of the river was great from the entrance. It was a fun experience for our family.

My sister and I found this one. This is quite a find. The food is nothing to brag about, and it takes time to get your order, but the wait staff couldn't have been any better. How unusual to work in a restaurant that's hidden inside a cave! Debbie was our waitress and you could tell she loved her job.... More

The Cave is located right above the Gasconade River and is a very unique dining experience. We had been here in the past and have noticed that the furnishing lack comfort. Our table for 4 had two dining chairs and 2 metal folding chairs. Not what I would expect in a restaurant. Service was ok, our waitress had to be... More

A group of seven of us ate at The Cave in June 2014. The restaurant is off the beaten path to say the least. The last leg of the journey is made in the establishment's van winding up a hillside through rental cabins along the Gasconade River. You can take either a long stairwell or an elevator to get to... Pretty good food and a great adventure. The elevator was working or we wouldn't have gone. Kinda hot riding in the van to the base.
