The Cave is located right above the Gasconade River and is a very unique dining experience. We had been here in the past and have noticed that the furnishing lack comfort. Our table for 4 had two dining chairs and 2 metal folding chairs. Not what I would expect in a restaurant. Service was ok, our waitress had to be... More

A group of seven of us ate at The Cave in June 2014. The restaurant is off the beaten path to say the least. The last leg of the journey is made in the establishment's van winding up a hillside through rental cabins along the Gasconade River. You can take either a long stairwell or an elevator to get to... Pretty good food and a great adventure. The elevator was working or we wouldn't have gone. Kinda hot riding in the van to the base.

We were staying at the Fairfield Inn Ft. Leonard Wood and asked the manager for a fun place to eat. He recommended 'The Cave' and said it was definitely worth the trip. It really was not that far away, but definitely believe your directions on your phone if you think you made the wrong turn because you probably actually didn't... More

I was with a group of 5 road tripping. We had been driving all day and were very excited for this restaurant. We had to wait a bit for the van up to the restaurant itself. Krystal, the driver, was awesome. She made a great first impression and her driving skills were amazing considering how close to the cave we... More

Not just a unique place to eat, although it most certainly is that. The food is great, the scenery fabulous, and our waitress (Debbie) made it all even better - amazingly quick-witted is she! I had salmon AIoli - unsurpassed even for an inveterate salmon lover. Wife had prime rib - excellent. Generous portions, fairly priced. Our first time there,... More

The idea of the restaurant in the cave is great! Challenging to get to and signage from one direction is poor. Could use some sprucing up. I love the idea of live music with dinner on Friday and Saturday. Our waitress was great but the food was not. The manager was rude when one person in my party complaining. I... More

The food is secondary to the experience. It's located only a few miles north of Historic Route 66 and I-44 in Missouri ( between Waynesville and Lebanon) and a never to be forgotten experience. The cave is 100 feet above the Gasconade River and was a Saturday night speakeasy during prohibition - dancing and home brew drew regular customers who... More

If you are planning to experience dining inside of a cave then this is the place for you. As a pure dining experience, however, The Cave rates no better than average. In other words, you may be disappointed if you go only for the food. In our 2X experience lately with the current ownership, the service takes what seems like... More

I am sorry that you did not have a good experience. I am the owner and I am very busy on another project right now. I would appreciate you letting me know what was your problem with the food and your service. Being as I am not there full time right now I would appreciate some detail on your experience.... More
