The meal we had at J. Bruner's Steakhouse was the best we had in a 4 day stay in Missouri. The atmosphere is nothing special, typical mom and pop steak house however the food is excellent. My husband had a filet and lobster combination and I had a KC strip and both were very good and well prepared. He raved... More

Walking distance from our hotel. Food and service was good. It was a typical supper club. Good steaks and seafood. Nothing stood out but was overall a good experience.

My wife and I have been together for about 8 years; this whole time she has been bragging about the food at J Bruner's. Recently, we had a vacation at the lake and decided to eat at this establishment. It was a huge disappointment. The Prime Rib soup had a good taste; however, it was full of gristle, the steak... They are pricey but the quality of the food and service is worth it. Our server was extremely nice and very knowledgeable about the restaurant and menu. We both got KC strips and they were great. My husband's was over cooked a bit but they quickly cooked another at the right temp. We would definitely return!

Me and my boyfriend have dinner here each time we go to the lake. The service is great and the food is amazing! It is pricey but well worth it!

Service was great and the food was good but prices are high. The building isn't anything to rave about and neither is the atmosphere. We went for our anniversary and everyone was very nice....even a great dessert. So go have a great meal but plan on spending at least a 100 for 2 ppl.

The food is good but way over priced. Everything is served individually. The restaurant is actually an old house next to a gas station on the old highway. With no windows! The TVs are programmed to show a fake fish tank. Not sure how this place passed the Handicapped Laws. The atmosphere and the prices don't match! The original chef... More

We arrived on a what seemed a slow evening. Service was prompt and courteous. They seated our large party of 11 quickly in a room by ourselves. The decor is late 70's/early 80's. Very dim lighting and dark wood paneling. There are a couple of flat screen TVs that are projecting fish (like aquariums). Being a steak place they recommended... More

Very over priced. They must think they are a Ruth's Chris. No Atmosphere here. Better places at the lake for less money and better food.

We chose to eat here as this is advertised as having the best steaks at the Lake. The food I would rate as good, however, the atmosphere I would rate as poor. The décor was dated and there was a musty smell throughout the dining room. The service was good with the waiter being pleasant and helpful. All in all,... More
