We took the advice of our hotel staff during a visit to the lake in August 2009 and went to Backwater Jacks for dinner. The view of the lake is nice, and the band was great. Always has great music! The views of the water is relaxing and beer is icey. But, if you are hungry, go somewhere else. Food is overpriced and small portions leave you still hungry. We came upon this bar and grill by accident and were SO glad we did. Sit outside to eat when the weather is nice. A band was playing beyond and it was a very nice atmosphere over looking the docked boats and the water. The food was VERY good. For sure try the fried potato salad, it was simply great.... more
Took the advice of a "local" to go there....they said they have the best food and menu. The ONLY thing that was okay about the place was the band for the evening, "The Surge". Good food, great staff and a top place to people watch at the Lake. Especially when our favorite band, Johnny i and the Receders, is playing there. Lots of dancing and fun times. more

Backwater Jacks has gotten better lately, but the food is still the same old nasty stuff it has always been. I guess it would be okay if you are too drunk to notice that the place is not clean, and the food is simply expensive bar food. more
