Fantastic!

Lovely food and atmosphere - sat by a cosy open fire. Attentive staff and excellent service. Great menu choice and nice to see a good selection of gluten free options. Will definitely be back!

Visited here on a Saturday night with friends, and its a busy pub restaurant. There's a good choice of beers, lagers and wines. The menu at a push I would say is slightly limited but the food was very nice. Staff are all very good and friendly.......... Always a bonus. Yup I will be visiting again.

We were recommend this venue and were very disappointed. We booked lunch. On arrival we waited ages for service at the bar. The waitress failed to provide menus, which we then sought out. Eventually our order was taken. We then waited 45 minutes for our food, in fact we were within minutes of walking out. Secondly the waitress lacked any... More

First visit here and won't be our last. Lunch was extremely tasty and well cooked. Plenty of choice and really good value for money. Beer well kept. Pub itself is well looked after with a welcoming fire and comfy chairs. A really good country pub and a credit to the landlords.

We visited the pub for an evening meal and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The interior of the restaurant is quite spacious and very comfortable with a nice inglenook fireplace which was blazing away on our visit. We had two courses followed by coffee and the food was very good. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed it so much... More

We came last weekend , the restaurant was very cosy and away from the main bar . Food was well presented , very tasty and good generous portions . I cannot fault 'pork in cider' . One of the best pork dishes I have ever had . The bread and butter pudding was divine. The landlady was very friendly and... More

My wife and I recently got married and went on our honeymoon, dropped off by the parents and picked up by the parents (or so we thought). When we landed, we were greeted by a private car, suspision suddenly crepped in and we were told to sit back, relax and enjoy the Champagne. Immediatley we new that it was the... More

Based on the reviews and previously popping for a lunchtime sandwich with my Dad I had every hope that Sunday lunch would be a good experience. So took my partner Angie as our local (The Plough) was full. Service was a little slow but it was a busy time. The roast dinners arrived piping hot and the vegetables looked ample,... More

I recently went to the George for a festive holiday lunch with my husband. Really enjoyed the food, warm welcome and attentive service even though it was extremely busy midway through our visit. Shall definately go back and can thoroughly recommend.
