Lake of the Ozarks is lucky to be blessed with so many terrific locally owned restaurants. There are eateries there that, if they opened a facility in Kansas City, people would willingly wait hours to be seated. Baxters, Hooks and JJs at the Copperpot are just some of the A team. But the pride of the fleet, the flagship, has... More

Thank you for putting us in such good company. We’ve just received our 11st consecutive award from Wine Spectator Magazine, the only restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks to be so honored. Our chefs work hard to get our food just right every time and the front of the house staff is experienced in taking care of guests. As... More

Beware the stairs!! ... but so worth it!! In-house Sangria, perfect calamari (with two thin slices of lemon fried in the same batter (wow that was good), and 4-cheese stuffed mushrooms. Susan had wild greens with a celery-seed vinaigrette, a thick porkchop with a brown sugar and bacon glaze/topping, and raspberry bread pudding. All perfect. I had the chicken corn... More

It was nice to meet you and we’re glad your experience lived up to our press! I also appreciate your good humor regarding our steps down to the restaurant….I frequently bring guest cars down our access drive – it still isn’t perfect, but we want to accommodate all who want to come. The hills of the Ozarks are lovely, but... More

My wife and I visited the Duck on 7/11/2009 and 7/11/2014. We enjoyed the first visit so much that we had to go for an encore. The atmosphere was great. The view of the lake and the staff was so nice. They even threw in dessert for free as an anniversary gift to us.

Great seeing you again; how about this weather we’ve been having! We know it can’t last, but we’ll take it while we can. We’re honored that you spent your anniversary celebration with us. More

My wife and I dine at the Duck every June during our trip to the Lake of the Ozarks. Reservations recommended. Food always very well prepared with attention to detail. My wife had the lobster and I had the scallop special. Donna was very attentive as usual and the view was spectacular. Like everything, the meals are getting more expensive... More

Call for a reservation at this restaurant. Seating is limited. Guests arrive via car and boat. It is an upscale establishment which we found worth the price. We paid about $150 for a bottle of wine, an appetizer, and two entrees. This amount included a gratuity. Staff made this dinner enjoyable. Extra steps were taken to insure that we had... More

Donna and Mark are always at the restaurant to ensure a great dining experience. Chef Phil is now the head chef. Every item on the menu is always very creative, delicious and beautifully presented. To top it off, it is the best fine dining restaurant with the best view on the Lake.

We keep our boat at about the 1/2 mile marker and it makes for a great trip up the lake with guests to the Duck for dinner. Catch the sunset and then cruise back to the marina. Now, that's life on the lake. The food and service is probably in the top 5 on the lake. Some would say they... More

Thanks for you vote of confidence. Along with other fine restaurants at the lake, we always try to provide a quality dining experience to visitors to our area as well as residents and second home owners. There is still some great boating and dining left; the fall colors are starting to emerge and the water is calm. If you’ve already... More

We come by boat, usually on Friday evenings to catch the sunset. Outside tables are very desirable, so you should make a reservation if you want one on the weekend. The docks are well protected by the breakwater, (which wasn't the case many years ago). Food has always been great. We especially enjoy the smoked trout appetizer and the rack... More

Yes, it is hard to find a better sunset at the lake than from The Duck. Thanks for mentioning the breakwaters. We put those in in 2010. It was a large investment, but we knew it was the right thing to do in order to protect our dock and our guest’s boats. Now our visitors enjoy the calm waters in... More

I think this might be the loveliest place we have been to at the Lake. We arrived late on a Sunday night with no reservation. We were seated right away and the hostess was very friendly. The waiter was very attentive and patient as we made our choices. Halfway through our meal we were told our lights were on in... More

We’re so glad you enjoyed your visit. We do keep a battery starter at hand; it is usually the boats that need them, but they work equally well on cars. Our busser Carl joined us at age 16, and now as a 22 year old college student can still bound up and down those stairs. I used the golf cart... More
