This is my new favorite restaurant in St. Louis. My wife and I stumbled upon Truffles while looking through OpenTable - were we glad that we did! I had never heard of this restaurant before. The reviews on OpenTable looked good, and the menu looked great - lots of unique dishes with a Farm to Table theme. We arrived at... More

I met a group of people here one night for drinks. The bartender was attentive and very polite. We did not eat, but the food looked and smelled great.

Wow. What is the deal? The staff outnumbered the patrons at least 2 to 1. And the food is very good to excellent. The menu is rather simple in design, which I like. Very European/Italian in style and serving portions. The house made cheese and salumi were excellent. For mains I had the flank steak encrusted with gorgonzola... Yum. Side... More

My husband & I went for Valentine's Day which also happens to be our anniversary. I did not realize they were only offering the special Valentines menu when I made reservations. They sent a reservation confirmation email and it was explained there. I immediately called Truffles and asked if I would be able to order the bone marrow appetizer I... More

this was our first time to dine at Truffles. Apparently, it has made a comeback after losing ground. Thank goodness, because we had an absolutely fabulous dining experience on New Years Eve. There were 8 of us that night and we were very well taken care of by our waiter even though he was kept on his toes by all... More

Menu has about 5 starters, 4 or 5 pastas, and 5-6 entrees. We shared roasted bone marrow and burrata from the starters and a spaghetti carbonara. All were really good. Bone marrow was exceptional, one of the best I have had. The carbonara was excellent also; it was a nest of pasta with a raw yolk nestled on top to... More

I was at Truffles last week. The burgers and Gnocchi were tasteless. The service was lousy. They told me they couldn't make me an iced tea because they had new tea. OH MY Heavens!! I ordered water. It has been one of my favorite restaurants for a very long time. Not anymore. The prices are also outrageous at dinner.

If it was not for the complexity of the food this review would be negative. My wife is a pate' lover and her wild boar pate' for an appetizer was very good, my carpaccio was very good as well. We both had the stuffed sea scallops, again very good. Our wine was a Mersault from Fance which was excellent. It... More

Overall, I believe Truffles is overrated. When reading the menu it seems impressive and everyone sounds great, but after ordering and receiving my meal I was very disappointed. I was at the restaurant with a group of about 15 so we dined from the group menu. We has several serve yourself appetizers like shrimp in a spicy sauce, mini spanikopita,... More

It was outstanding and reasonably priced. They served 3 courses paired with wine: scallops with Pine Ridge chenin blanc blend, duck with Martin Ray pinot noir and for dessert an apple tart with Domaine Coyteau muscat de beaune de venise. I loved everything so much, I brought the menu home to remember the food and wine pairings. The sommelier suggested... More
