Fun locals place

Quirky and fun. Quick and delicious food. We had the Philly cheesesteak pizza and fried mushrooms. Both were really good and fresh and served pipping hot. Great staff. Wonderful people watching. A very eclectic atmosphere. The place is small, but inviting. The "decor" is something you have to experience for yourself. The wait staff is unique in style, but so friendly and very knowledgable of their menu and vast selection of craft brews. The crab rangoon is a must try! The best I've ever eaten. You can't go wrong with any... More

Philly cheesesteak sandwiches are here are quite good. They are large sandwiches, good value. Pastrami on rye also very good! Homemade potato chips are very good. The artsy feel is unique also. The tables are glass covered art pieces that are each different. Good music! Good parking! Door to the south is to grinders bar but I understand you can... More

First impression was "this a hole in the wall." I heard a lot of people say the place is great. So I tried their philly sandwich. It did not fail me. Ten inches of spicy, meaty, cheesy goodness. Fiance had the West Side sandwich which was a good portion of bacon, avocado, and turkey. There are plenty of beer choices.... More

This was our first stop on the Taste of Kansas City tour and it was great. Neat, neat place with a great history and the pizza that was chosen for us to try was amazing. Something I never would have chosen on my own so I'm glad I wasn't given a choice!

My friends and I frequent Grinders. It is a wonderful Sunday brunch spot, even though we chose the buy on get one pizza slices. Service is quick and polite! Love the mimosas as well!

Grinder's has become a downtown institution over the last few years, between their hosting Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and their hosting of good music concerts out their backdoor at the Crossroads venue. The food has always been excellent, and the funky atmosphere is great. We've probably eaten there 18-20 times over the years. A few years ago, they added an... More

This was my first time in KC and I was looking for a non-chain place for good pizza. Grinders was a success! The wings and pizza were excellent. I like the divey, punk-rock atmosphere a lot and the people are nice. Don't try and be brave with the death sauce though. The stuff isn't edible for humans. Maybe dragons...but I... More

First off, amazing mimosas!! Okay, now that I have shared that, I can get into the other good stuff... this restaurant is the best of two worlds because it has two sides... if you are wanting to throw back drinks and have a slice of amazing philly cheese steak pizza, they have the perfect setting on the left restaurant with... I have been here before but it has been a while because I don't live nearby. When I had a business meeting nearby I thought this would be a great palce to go to. It did not disappoint. Their menu is varied - everything from pizza, to sandwiches, to salads. Their pizza is good. They do have a few "interesting"... More
